Chapter 12: Maggie's POV
I had woken up to a knock on my door.
"Yes", I said in a groggily voice.
"Emma, is that you?" It was Maude. Crap! I had totally forgotten to reply in a british accent! I quickly got up from the bed and ran into the bathroom,
"Just one sec. Maude, I'm using the er um lou. Yes the lou", I said in a British accent locking the bathroom door quickly applying my green eyed colored contacts. I couldn't get them in right. CRAP!
"Why is your door locked Emma? Do you have a boy in there?"
"No, I just forgot to unlock the door last night from when I changed my clothes into pajamas".
I finally got the contacts in. Ouch! I'm so glad I don't have to wear these things daily. Seriously they are just a pain in the butt. I opened my bedroom door.
"Hey, I'm sorry for having you wait out here. Is there something you needed?" I asked .
She welcomed herself into the room eyeing the bedroom speculating for anything mischievous lying around. I gave her a cheesy grin.
"You are woke up late", she said.
"What time is it?", I asked.
"Ten o'clock. You are usually up by seven. Is everything okay?"
"Uh yea of course. Why not", I asked as I began to twirl a piece of the dyed blonde hair around my finger.
"Oh I don't know. You just seem a lot more different. A lot more well don't take this offensively, but more nice". I had tried to not smile but I couldn't help it. So I wasn't the only one here who thought Emma was mean and rude.
"Well my thoughts on life changed when I went to Washington DC", I lied. "I saw a lot of homeless people on the streets and it reminded me of how blessed I am. Especially to have you in my life". Okay I was sooo pulling this off. Maude looked like she was about to tear up but would refuse to let a tear drop come out. She walked towards me and reached in for a hug.
"Well I'm very proud of you," she said hugging tight. "You've been a lot nicer to your father and step mum as well. It's starting to make her feel more appreciated".
I nodded. "I'm sorry if I ever did anything to hurt you."
"Oh I forgive you, love!" said Maude. She asked me if I was hungry after our little moment. I nodded my head. Yeah buddy! Make me the royalty buffet. She told me she would tell Gloria and Georgia to make me a good hearty breakfast. Oh boy! FOOD HEAVEN TIME HERE WE GO!!
I had gone downstairs to see the dining room with a plate and silverware at the end. I assumed that was for me to sit at. I sat myself down. Maybe I could help the cooks with breakfast . That's not a bad idea. I got up from the table and headed towards what was the kitchen. It reminded me of a restaurant. Just the swinging door with a circled window on top. I opened the door, still in my pajamas. There, standing were two large women wearing two aprons. One lady was a ginger with orangish, frizzy hair tied back leaving some frizzy strands out. She had a mess of freckles on her face. The other lady had short brown hair with brown eyes.
"Good morning your highness", said the lady with the short brown hair.
"How did you sleep", asked the other woman.
"I slept quite good thank you. Your selves?" I assumed it was the two chefs of the mansion, Gloria and Georgia. I remembered Peter showing me pictures about them and Paris warning me how they both would get overly competitive on who made the best food in the house.
