Luna POV

A house is just a dwelling place; a home is where the heart is. That thought ran circles in my head as I curved my hand protectively around my baby bump; I'd only been pregnant for about a week, but because I was a Shifter, I'd only be pregnant for about 6 months in total. And goddess, I couldn't wait for those 6 months to hurry along so I could bring my bundle of joy into the world...

'Our bundle of joy, little one..." Alessio's voice was a soft murmur through my head as he wrapped his arms loosely around me from behind, pressing a kiss to the side of my head; he was just as excited as I was, if not more... We'd both already agreed that now, especially since I was pregnant, we definitely needed to get a house built.

'Oh, little one, don't worry your pretty little head about anything... We will have a house in time for the baby; whether we decide to build one, or fix up one of the abandoned ones, we will have a house. That I can swear to you right now.'

"What about money?!?" My voice was quiet even as I spoke aloud, hiding my face in his chest. "I mean, if we build a house, it'll cost money; if we fix up an old house, it'll cost money..." Already, my hormones were going crazy, and I hated it... "What if we don't have enough money to buy things for the baby?!?"

"Luna," he sighed, tipping my chin and gazing down at me, hands gentle on my shoulders, "we will figure this out, little one; I swear to you, we will have a house and we will have enough money for the baby. Whether we have to sell a few things, or beg, borrow, and plead, we will make this work!"

If only we'd realized then that another surprise was heading our way...

"I like this one, Alex!" Squealing, I giddily clapped my hands before throwing my arms around his neck. "Don't you love it?!?"

Grinning, he pressed a light kiss to my lips and twined our fingers, leading me up the pathway and through the small entry gate. The grass turned to asphalt below our feet as we walked up the backside of the house, facing the two-car garage. The house was a three story, glorified log cabin, with large windows to let the sunlight in. If the inside was anything compared to the outside, I personally thought we'd just found ourselves a house!

Craning his neck to see the roof, Alex whistled quietly, brow raised, and scratched his chin; he didn't do it often, but it was damn right sexy! "Don't you think it's a little big?" Cocking his head down at me, his hand gently shoved mine out of the way to splay across my belly. "I mean, it is just us three..."

"Alessio," I giggled, playfully slapping his chest with a sly smirk, "do you really think we're only going to have this one baby?!?" Moving my fingers into the spaces of his, I smiled gently as our fingers knotted together over my bump; it wouldn't be long before someone else noticed the changes in me, but we wanted to surprise them all by fixing up a room in the new house as a nursery. "I mean, I don't know about you but I quite enjoy pulling our all-nighters!"
