Alex POV
"Oh. My. Goddess.! Alex, you did not!" Squealing, Luna threw her arms around me as I barely staggered, managing to swing her around in circles. "We're in Texas! That's why you wouldn't tell me where we were going!?!" Her gaze fluttered between me and the surrounding area, from the blazing sun to the distant woods; she finally seemed at peace, almost as if she were meant to be here...
No! She was my wife, Mate, and the mother of my children! She wouldn't leave me, even if I ever gave her the chance; she wouldn't leave me any sooner than I would her. She loved me as much as I did her, forever and eternity.
"Of course I love you, Alex!" Smiling softly, she cupped the back of my neck and stood on tiptoes, lips brushing mine. "Just because I'm back in Texas doesn't mean I'm gonna suddenly want to leave you, and our Pack, and move back home; I still have parent issues, remember?!?" At her words, I couldn't help the look on my face; she froze, eyes wide, and quietly gasped. "You want me to make up with my parents, don't you?"
Not trusting my voice, I merely nodded as her eyes darkened; I understood where she was coming from with her anger and hurt, but she did honestly need to make up with her parents. I only wanted her happiness, and making up with her parents would heal a lot of the hurt she'd suffered.
"But I am healed, Alessio! I have you now; who needs a couple of lying, cheapskate parents who are just gonna betray you in the end?" Smiling sadly, she snuggled into my arms with a sigh. "Really, Alex, thank you so much for bringing me back here, but I really don't wanna see my parents..."
Knowing that she'd pick up on my thoughts, I merely clutched her tighter and pressed my lips fully against hers. Too late...
"Luna...?!?"

Her parents had changed a little since I'd last seen them, even a little less than a month and a half ago; they weren't scared shitless of me, for one... They seemed older, for another, as if an insurmountable amount of stress had aged them; of course, they'd been stressed the last time I'd seen them, as well, but that could have been simply because I'd thrown a chair at their heads...
'You threw a chair at their heads?!?' Giggling quietly, she ducked a step behind me, as if she were afraid to go and talk to them. 'Quite frankly, I'm surprised that's all you did!'
Oh, if she only knew that I'd sworn to kill them and their entire Pack if she wasn't returned back home to me in one piece alive and well without so much as a scratch...
"Luna, sweetheart, we need to at least go say hi..." Twining our fingers, I flashed a sheepish smile as she glared at me, easily picking my earlier thoughts from my head. "They are your parents, after all."
She followed after me begrudgingly, and not at all because I was practically pulling her along behind me. When we stood about a foot away from them, she paused, turning to me with wide eyes. 'How can I forgive them, Alessio?'
Cupping her cheek, I wiped away the tears that were building behind her blue eyes with a soft smile. 'Let's just focus on catching up for now, shall we?' Keeping a firm hold on her hand, I took the next few steps towards them as they smiled with tight lips. "Nice to see you two again..."
