Time Flies

Newts POV

Looking back at the first time I meet Gracie I can't help but smile. Since then Gracie has grown to be a mother figure all of the boys, each and every one of them all look up to her and treat her with respect. It's been three years since she arrived and its our anniversary tomorrow i have set up a date with her and have had Alby, Minho, and Gally to help me I'm planning to make it special. Gracie is the love of my life she has been there for me even in my times. For some odd reason Gally only seems to get on with Gracie I really don't know why. Anyway moving on from the past the new greenie is arriving today and I'm going to get the new shank settled in. As i walk around the glade I get various hellos from the other gladers I say hello back and continue on my way. Knowing Gracie she is most likely in one of three places. Firstly in the kitchen helping Frypan (the keeper of the cooks.) Or teaching Clint new medical stuff. But because it's the afternoon she is most likely with Derek. And yes he is still alive and will still only go to Gracie. Once I get to the pens I see that I was right, there sits my beautiful girlfriend with a giant pig resting on her lap.
"Hey babe." I say looking down at her. Derek then gets up and leaves grunting in the progress. She then gets up and makes her way over. I wrap my arms around her and bring her close to me before kissing her passionately. Once we pull apart she smiles at me.
"Hey hun." She replies.
I'm about to ask her to the date I had planned but then the alarm sounds signaling a new greenie.

Gracie's POV

Newt looks like he's about to ask me something by then the greenie alarm sounds we all rush over to the box just as we get there I see Gal about to open it I say,
"Hey Gal go easy on him OK."
"OK Grace don't worry." He replies
He then jumps in. Newt, Alby and I all stand at the front. I can't see the new greenie but I can hear Gal say
"Day one greenie"
Then he pulls out the new greenie I know its a boy because I have gotten use to it by now. He is then pulled out.
"He looks like he's about to klunk himself." I whisper to Newt. He laughs at my comment. As i get a better look at the greenie i gasp he looks so familiar, almost as if I had seen him before. He then looks at me and i know he is thinking the same. He then takes off running.
"We got a runner!!" I hear someone shout. I'm pretty impressed and I would have recommended him to Minho but then he completely face planted. We all laughed at him but then Alby decides to put him into the slammer to stop him from running into the maze. After a couple if hours alby walks over to the slammer and asks the regular question. What do you remember? I watch as he shows him around.
"Hey babe I'm gonna go talk to Alby for a second." Newt snaps me out of my trance.
"Ok I'll be in the medi- jack rooms." I say walking towards the hut. As I'm in there i see Winston come in with a bleeding hand. I smile at him,
"Hey Winston cut yourself again?"
"Yeah do you think you can fix it?" He gives me a sheepish smile.
"Come here you know the drill." Winston comes in here at least once a fortnight because he has cut himself. He is a slicer so it's pretty common. Once I finish fixing him i look at the time, i slightly squeal because Minho would be back soon so i rush out and go to the doors. I watch as he comes out with Ben and passes Chuck and the new greenie. He lets Ben carry on and runs up to me, he pulls me into a hug and spins me around.
"Hey GG. I see the new greenie has arrived." He says as we pull away.
"Year he got here a while ago. Anyway I'll let you get to the map room." I pat his hair, he shoots me a look but continues on his way. I'm on my way to see Chuck and the new greenie but when I find them they are near the walls. Oh no this is not good I'm about to yeel out when I see Gal storming over to him. I rush over to him but I'm to late Gal has already pushed the greenie to the floor.
"GAL!" I scream at him. I walk towards him and put my hand on his chest.
"Leave him be." Gal looks at me and calms down. Just as I'm about to talk to the greenie he starts to panic.
"What are you doing you can't keep me here." He yells.
"And i can't let you leave." Gal replies.
"Why what's out there." He asks.
I'm about to answer but then Alby comes over, "look just calm down." Then a loud sound can be heard. The doors are closing. We all watch as they shut. I make my way over to Newt and he wraps his arm around my waist and kisses my head.
"Welcome to the glade." Is all Alby says. Once night has fallen Alby gives all us keepers torches. We all throw ours into the fire pit setting it ablaze. I then go over to Minho and sit next to him.
"So how was your day Minny?" I ask.
"Tiring GG what about you?"
"Pretty fun actually the new greenie might make it as a runner. And then Winston cut his hand."
"Ohh really a runner you say?"
"Yeah a good one to, till he face planted." This makes me and Minho break out in laughter.
"Ok GG I'll keep an eye on him." He says kissing my head. I then see both him and Newt looking over at us.
"I'm gonna go over and see Newt." I get up and walk over to Newt and the new greenie.
"Hey babe." I say sitting next to him.
"Hey Gracie." He then proceeds to kiss me lightly. Once we pull away Newt then introduces me to the new greenie.
"Gracie this is the new greenie. Greenie this is Gracielynn the one and only girl greenie and the keeper of the med-jacks and also my girlfriend." We shake hands and smile, Newt then wraps his arm around my waist.
"Oh and also along with the three rules we have another one and that is no one touches Gracie. Or Minho, Gally, Alby, and I with throw you to the maze with a lot of bruises. Got it?"
"Yeah I got it." He says
"Hey babe I'm gonna go to bed I see you later OK?" I say getting up.
"OK I'll be there soon. Night." I kiss him then move to the greenie.
"I'll see you in the morning greenie sweet dreams." Then I kiss his head. Once I'm finally in my room I fall asleep instantly.

Newts POV
I watch as Gracie walks away. "You know you and Gracie look really similar kind of like siblings." I say the greenie looks at me.
"I don't know but for some reason when I saw her I felt a connection. Not like boyfriend typed connection but a protective one."
"Yeah everyone feels that she is like the mother here always looking after us." I say
"Any way let's get you shown around." As we are walking we pass the ring where Gally is play fighting with some other gladers when the greenie gets pushed again. Gally then asks him to join he looks hesitant at first but once we all start chanting he finally gives in. The fight doesn't last long because Gally pushes him to the ground. I see Minho watching him, we are all surprised when he manages to beat Gally but it is short lived when he once again his on the ground. The greenie hits his head hard on the ground. He then gets up and says
"Thomas, Thomas, my name is Thomas." We are all quiet the Alby yells
"Thomas!!" We all erupt in cheers and gathered round him. Then Gally goes up to him and shakes his hand. We continue this until a Trever screech is herd. We are all silent
"Go on everyone time for bed." Alby says. Just like that I go to Gracie's room and climb in with her and start cuddling. She then turns to face me are rests on my chest.
"I love you Gracielynn." Then I fall into a deep slumber thinking about tomorrow's date.
