PROMPT: Joe is diagnosed with Leukaemia and is not only having constant treatment, but is sent off to a weekend cancer boot camp. Sorta like a support group, except it's on a camp. Caspar has been diagnosed with a fatal kidney cancer and is also sent on the same camp. Neither of them want to go. (Sort of like Fault in our stars but not... I'm not taking any of John greens work and I'm not using any lines from the story)

WARNINGS: talk of depression, anxiety, eating disorder, suicide attempts. self-harm, cancer. Mild course language and sexual content. (This is for all three parts to this story)

This is going to be quite sad. Just a pre-warning!
Okay, love you all!
ENJOY!!!

3RD PERSON P.O.V

Joe trudged out to the car, that his mum sat impatiently honking the horn, in for the last 30 minutes. He groaned and grumbled, swearing under his breath as he painfully opened the car door and slid silently and slowly into the passenger seat. 'This is such a waste of precious time' Joe thought, wiggling his beanie around on his bald head. After clipping up his seat belt, he started to fidget with the loose thread on his 10x too big hoodie. He then fumbled through the backpack his mum left on the front of the car floor, trying to find his headphones and phone. His lanky fingers grasp around the objects he needed after much messing around. He quickly popped his ear buds in, blaring music into his ears. He made sure the volume was all the way up and stared out the window, only really paying attention to the sounds of the music. Joe was happy, he loved listening to music, it helped him block the world out as he let the music seep into his body. He scrunched up his face and closed his eyes, taking deep breaths.

Joe really really didn't want to go to this boot camp thingy. He'd prefer to sit at home and curl up on the couch whilst watching Netflix and 'keeping up with the Kardashians' with his cat, Nena, by his side. But Joe's mum and Dad had a different idea.

Of course the support group Joe just joined about 2 days ago had an introductory boot camp for 3 nights, about an hour and forty-five minute drive from where He lived. Despite Joe's attempts to persuade his parents not to let him go using many invalid excuses, his Mum and Dad both agreed that he would defiantly be going. And so, the very next morning, they put his name down on the sheet on Joe's first day of Support group. Joe thought support group was supposed to 'support' young people whom are suffering. Well, to say that Joe was barley seen the entire hour and fifteen minutes was an understatement. Joe could have not been there at all and no one would have noticed. It was like Joe was invisible. He felt like he has his whole life. Though he did notice a tall blonde boy with sparkling blue eyes glance at him once or twice, giving Joe a wink and small smile from across the room. He smiled back faintly, realising someone like himself could never date someone as handsome and cute as the blonde boy.

The blonde boy however thought differently. He thought that the cute boy with ocean eyes and petite figure was stunning. Caspar already liked the look of this guy.

Joe sighed as he looked out the car window. He felt the fear he felt everyday of his schooling life grow in the pit of his stomach as they got closer to the camp site. Joe never has had a friend. His only friend was his cat. He'd never had a human friend. Joe never was the kid who was popular. No, he was more of an outcast and he quite literally didn't fit in anywhere. He sat in the toilets and cried whilst he ate his lunch, kids bullied and teased him, he was beaten up every single day, he became drastically depressed, devolved an eating disorder, self-harmed and had attempted suicide twice before. Then to make things worse he came out as gay and was shortly after diagnosed with his disease. That's when things got so bad, kids actually brought guns to school and threatened to shoot him if He didn't do it himself. Police then had to get involved, his family found out, and the doctors found out. He tried to run away and he tried everything to get out of this hell. Fortunately Joe's parents decided to home school him for the last year or two he had yet to complete.
