Khalil Ryan Perkins
June 6th, 2011
9:36 a.m.Jade and I was standing next to each other as our lawyer was horribly attempting to prove we are innocent and I was sweating by the minute. I'm still haunted by the fact that I killed my sister and her boyfriend. We were facing two counts of Vehicular Manslaughter.
"Your honour, Mr. Perkins and Ms. Pelton's illegal joint bank account showed that they rented a car forty-five minutes before the accident happened. They returned the car with major dents and at least eight scratches" the prosecutor said, going through his files.
My eyes wandered around the court room, meeting the hard gaze of my mom.
She held a hard expression. Right on side of her was David. He looked like he can break down any minute.
"We even have a surveillance footage from the front camera of the car. It shows the same license plate of their rented car. We even have a developed picture of Ms. Jade Pelton's internet post of a picture of the deceased D'Mari Moore and Ronald Adams aka Rj's car. It has a suspicious caption which contains lots of crying laughing emoticons She tagged Mr. Khalil Perkins and he commented the same thing ad the caption" the female prosecutor walked up to the judge, showing Judge Bridges all of the evidence.
Jade looked like she was gonna piss her pants, and I bet I looked the same way.
"Well this is very solid evidence" he turned to the direction of our lawyer.
"You have anything to go against any of this Mr. Andrews?" he questioned. My lawyer looked down, shaking his head.
Jade's mom, Hannah, started crying hysterically.
"You really killed them Jade?! You're such a disgrace!" she stormed out of the courtroom.
The jury didn't even go to recess to make a decision. They instantly just handed the judge what our sentence may be.
"In the case of Khalil Ryan Perkins and Jade Ra'Nae Perkins versus the city of Tulsa Oklahoma, the families of D'Mari Kayla Moore and Ronald Dwayne Adams Jr., I pronounce the defendants...Guilty of Vehicular Manslaughter. Khalil is sentenced to 25 years and Jade is sentenced to 30 years" the judge banged the gavel.
"I'm sorry mama" I mouthed the words to my mother as I looked back at her.
She shook her head and walked out of the courtroom with David trailing behind. I caught the glimpse of D'mari's baby since David had her in his arms.
She was beautiful.
"Don't drop the soap" the officer smirked as he handcuffed me, taking me away.
I started breaking down as I felt reality sink it.
I'm going to jail.

"Bryson, when are you coming get me?" I sniffed through the phone.
I've been staying at Ashton's house ever since. My mom thought I was working as a prostitute when she saw the lingerie set my psycho of a father got me.
I started telling her everything that's been going on, she didn't believe be as expected. My father and her both beat me until I started having a fake asthma attack.
I remembered that Ashton lives at least fifteen minutes in walking distance. I just ran away with my three huge trash bags of clothes, shoes and hygiene necessities.
Bryson, Ashton, Delilah and Ariel are the only other people who know and believe me.
"Ya know I'm all the way in damn Kentucky right Zo?" he sighed.
