|Arrived in Oklahoma|
I was rudely awaken out of my sleep by this tall ass foundation brush ass nigga. We pulled up in front of our new house.
It looked similar to every house in the neighborhood, but hers was made of brick. I saw a big group of guys and girls on the front porch.
"Hey mama!" I saw this tall ass boy run up to us as he hugged Kylene. I stared at him for awhile before turning my head away.
"Help the kids with their things please De'Andre" she chuckled. He let her go and looked at all of us.
"Wassup rabbit" he said as he pulled D'Mari in a tight hug. She laughed and pushed him away. His eyes went straight to her small yet growing belly and shook his head.
"I'll explain later Dre" she mumbled as she walked into the house.
"Wassup ya damn thick ass paint brush" he pulled at David's hair.
"Let go of my hair shithead" David swung at him. Fortunately, he missed. De'Andre let go of his hair and laughed.
"You're thirteen years old David you can't be cussing nigga" he chuckled. I looked at De'Andre and rolled my eyes and walked past him with my bags.
The whole story to why I'm not close to De'Andre and Kylene is a story for another day. Just know I probably will forgive whenever I get an real explanation.
I walked upstairs as Kylene helped me into my room. My looked around in awe as I smiled. My walls were painted light orange with little pink daisies.
My bedspread was pink with my name embroidered in orange. My bed was queen-sized, but I can deal with it. I looked at Kylene and smiled.
"Thank you...mom?" I said to her. It was a shame I basically had to force myself to say that. I was so used to mom since I was so used to say daddy.
She hugged me and smiled really hard. The same beautiful smile I haven't seen in over ten years. I hugged her back and she pulled away.
"I'm making some baked chicken, cabbage, and some cornbread. You'll like that right?" she asked. I nodded as she walked out the room.
"I eat my rice and cabbage" I chuckled as I put away all my clothes. I put my makeup and acne products on the pink vanity. Unfortunately, I didn't have a walk in closet like I had back in Shrevport so it was hard to put my shoes in there.
"You alright Dee?" D'Mari came walking in the room. I nodded as I hung up my last picture of myself on the wall.
"I just have to adjust to some of this ya know? Especially since I will never forget the incident with Dre and mom" I sighed as I looked at her. She nodded in agreement.
"Everything will be okay. Since you're here, Dre will have to leave" she reassured me. I nodded and walked downstairs with her.
I sat at the island with David. Mom sat our plates in front of us, even the little group of kids who were here when we arrived stayed to eat.
"I'm Zoria, what's your name?" one of the girls who stayed to eat asked.
"I'm Delilah" I politely smiled at her. I scanned over her features. I honestly loved her bright red hair and her mocha brown skin.
I looked at the corner of my eye to see De'Andre glaring at me. I got a little intimidated by his look, but he was the one who bought that whole incident that happened 10 years ago onto himself. He caused my mom and him to move.
"Well maybe I can help you around to the classes tomorrow" she said as she slid me her number on a piece of paper. I nodded.
"Maybe you can"
"Leave the girl alone Z, it's obvious she doesn't wanna hold a conversation with you" a lightskinned girl with short hair retorted at her. I laughed and shook my head.
"It's okay" I said and finished my food and moved my plate away.
"Well I'm Kaylin" the girl with short hair said. I nodded and glanced over at the four dudes staring at me. It kind of creeped me out.
30 minutes later...
"Time to go guys" my mom told Zoria and Kaylin. I grew a little friendship with them after dinner and I was kind of happy about it. I'm actually gonna have friends here besides my siblings.
"Can we stay the night please?" Zoria pouted. My mom shook her head.
"Zoria you know how your mom will react. Kaylin might stay since she's three houses down." she explained. Zoria groaned and got up and put on her shoes.
"See you tomorrow Dee" she said as she grabbed her belongings and left out the room.
Kaylin asked her mom through texting and fortunately was told yes.
We got our showers out of the way and laid in my bed with our hair tied up in messy buns.
"So what made you move to this raggedy ass place?" she asked. I sighed and shrugged.
"My daddy got probably did something back in the day that now caught up to him which lead him to being in jail. I don't know how long he's going to be in there though" I said and turned on the TV.
"I understand girl" she mumbled and laid her head on my shoulder.
I peeked through the little crack of my door and saw De'Andre walking downstairs with boxes and suitcases. I smiled a little. I finally knew that I was gonna be safe without him being here.
I guess he saw me because he barged into my room and started choking me.
"STOP SMILING YOU FUCKING SLUT" he yelled into my face as I was having a really difficult time getting him off me.
Kaylin got up and grabbed my lamp and hit him upside the head. My vision was getting blurry until I saw my mom and David run into the room and got him off me.
I started crying and kicked around. Kaylin hugged me and stared at a bleeding De'Andre.
"You fucking rapist! I hate you!" I screamed as I started sweating a little and was in and out of consciousness which were the symptoms to my PTSD. D'Mari ran into the room with a my medicine and stabbed it into my thigh. I calmed down and stared at the wall.
They led De'Andre down the stairs and kicked him out the house. I made Kaylin leave and told her I'll see her tomorrow and explain everything to her when I felt the time was right.
I laid in my bed crying silently to myself as D'Mari and David held me and my mom sat in my beanbag watching me.
Unfortunately, I walked into some really bad drama.
De'Andre in M|M.
