Chapter 4
~Jaelyn's point of view~There was an urgent knock on the apartment door almost immediately after Jesse left in a rampage. I opened the door to a worried looking Joey.
"Please tell me Jesse is here." Joey begs, running his hands through his disheveled hair. Joey was still clad in his pajamas.
"He's not here, do you know where he went?"
"Maybe, but if he went to where I think he is then we're fucked."
"Why? What are you talking about?" I demanded, pacing the room.
Joey shut the apartment door and grabbed my arm, stopping me from pacing. "We just need to get Jesse."
**
Joey pulled up to a small building that was only ten minutes away from the apartment. "Jaelyn, please stay here."I nodded, reluctantly agreeing to Joey's orders. After about twenty minutes Joey came back with a pissed off looking Jesse. They both got into the car loudly.
"They're going to kick you out of there one of these days. Then you won't be able to visit her."
Her? Did Jesse have a girlfriend? It made me feel jealous and sort of angry. Why wouldn't he just room with her? I felt anger bubble up inside of me.
Joey started the car and pulls out of the lot. Rain pounded relentlessly on the windshield of Joey's Jeep.
"They keep changing her fucking meds and they won't tell me. It jacks up the fucking price and they still don't tell me." Jesse growled. Meds?
I didn't want to ask Jesse any questions because I know he'd have an attitude or just ignore me.
The rest of the ride to the apartment had an uncomfortable silence. I didn't feel the need to be cooped up in that apartment with a pissed off Jesse and I was itching to go somewhere. I decided on going to the club since my best friend works there.
Once we got home, I went into my room and changed into a tight black crop top and a pair of ripped high waisted shorts. I styled my hair into beach waves and once I was done, I grabbed my favorite black kitten heels and headed to the living room.
"I'm going to the club. My friend is a bartender there." I said as I sat down on the futon to put on my heels.
"You're going alone?" Joey questioned, arching an eyebrow. They both are in the mini kitchen making protein milkshakes.
I scrunched my face up in disgust. Protein shakes tasted oddly like baby food. "Yeah, Lacy is a bartender there."
"You shouldn't go to clubs alone." Jesse growled, balling his hands into tight fists.
"Easy there Killer," I muttered as I got up from the futon. "I'll see you guys later."
"Don't get drunk! You have to box tomorrow." I ignored Jesse's motherly comment and headed out to the club.
**Euphoria was my favorite club in Seattle. I made my way over to the bar to go say hi to Lacy. Lacy noticed me and started to pour me a martini.
"Haven't seen you all summer." Lacy stated as I sat down.
"I know I'm sorry," I yelled over the music, "I got a roommate. Jesse is really moody and oddly protective."
Lacy handed me a much needed drink. "Get it girl, you probably have some weird impact on him. Wait is it Jesse Stevens?"
I bit down on my straw. "Yeah, he wants to teach me how to box. I'd get more pay if I knew."
Lacy ran a hand through her chestnut hair and smiled widely, flashing her gorgeous teeth. "Could be an excuse to see you."
