chapter fourteen
I knew that something shifted between me and Blue, that he was beginning to trust me. I had already learnt to trust him, when he didn't scorn at me when he thought that my dream was good enough to like and the fact that he had the same dream as me only made me trust him even more. Yet, I wasn't prepared to walk into the field and sit down on my blanket and find that he was sitting next to me and he turned his head.
"Hi, Azalea."
My eyes widened as a shiver ran through my spine, causing me to almost visibly shiver in front of him. His voice was sweet, not rough at all, and silky. His bluish gray eyes were staring at me, as though he was wondering if I would speak back to him. I ducked my head, knowing that I was really shy around him anyway and then I looked back up.
"Hi, Blue."
He smiled a genuine smile this time and I rubbed my hand against my arm before I looked at him again, finding that he was looking up at the sky.
"So...you really like my dream?" I questioned him, and he looked down from the sky and turned his head towards me, his eyes gentle as though he understood why I was cautious and I was expecting him to take back what he had said.
"Yeah, it's the same as mine," Blue admitted as he reached his hand up and rubbed it against the nape of his neck. "I have had insomnia since I was a freshmen in high school...for kind of the same reasons as you..."
My eyes widened and I turned so that I was facing him and not looking up at the stars, my eyes showing concern. "Why did you suddenly...start talking to me? It's not that I don't like you talking to me, it's quite the contrary," I rushed out and waited for his response, finding that he was looking up at the sky to answer me without showing nervousness.
"We're both the same. Misunderstood, strange, but we found ourselves pulled into each other's orbit. We're circulating around each other, we're so attracted to each other in a frequency that it feels right. Like I can finally breathe and tell someone things about myself that I never imagined I'd tell someone but I trust you, Azalea. And I hope that you trust me too," Blue whispered and I found that he was peering up at the moon, the same moon that I often found myself peering at and wishing that had a real man inside of it so that I would be in the company of him.
I smiled back at Blue though and couldn't help but look away, "I trust you, Blue...probably more than either of us could imagine..." I turned my head and looked up at the moon, and didn't realize that our orbit was in motion because we sat closer to each other, as though spell bound by the frequency that was between us.
