chapter eleven

I felt special when I went to school, knowing that I had gotten closer to Blue than anyone else. People looked at me more and had curious looks across their features and I heard some of them whisper and ask if Blue and I were secretly dating. I had blushed at that thought, the thought of Blue holding me and caressing my cheekbone before swooping down and pressing his lips against mine, it was a blistering thought that made me feel as though my feet had been swept out from underneath me. I didn't deny that the thought made me feel so happy, the thought of a boy actually wanting to be with me and secretly date me, it made me feel so alive.

I slowly crept to the art room, my eyes widening when I found that Blue was waiting outside of the art room. I reached him and he smiled down at me, and I looked down at my feet before we both entered and headed towards the cubbies. We both put our bags away, me with my messenger bag and him with his worn out backpack. I reached into my messenger bag though and pulled out a headband and placed it in my hair so that my bangs wouldn't fall in front of my face. I flickered my eyes towards Blue, discovering that he was flickering his eyes over me before we both went over to the aprons and put them on.

I picked up my painting, being a little over half way through the painting. We usually had three months to create one painting, and then the last two months we would do pastel. I loved both, and usually did something that had a pop of color when it came to pastel. I would come home with my face covered with different soda pop colors and a large smile across my lips and Mom and Dad would laugh and they would ask me if I would ever bring my artwork that was for school one, but I would say no. It made it even better when it came to when I would be able to take it home at the end of the school year and they would be impressed.

Sitting my painting down onto my easel I sat down and looked at the painting, finding that I was just touching up the sky a little bit and that it would be even harder for me to get the stars done right. I couldn't help but flicker my eyes over to where Blue's painting was. My eyes widened when I saw that he was painting the solar system and that it was so detailed. I couldn't help but smile some, happy that he would actually paint something that was of the universe too.

I flickered my eyes up and found that Blue was looking at me and we both gave each other small smiles, as though we appreciated each other's artwork. We didn't have to say anything to know that our inspiration was the same.
