CH 6 I watched it begin again

"Damain?!" I was in shock! Why is he here, I thought he was in Colorado or Omaha or Oklahoma. "What are you doing here?"

"I moved here about 6 months ago. What about you?! You look great! I haven't seen you since High School Grad"

Damain was my high school fling, we never dated, we never went to dances together. We just had a very up and down relationship. Everyone thought we would one day we would be married. Baseball captain, Softball captain, He was top 10 in our school I was Senior Class President. Everyone thought we were gonna be the it couple at school.

"umm I have been great, trying to find a real job"

"Ya this never seemed like your big plan for after college." Not the plan at all, this is just embarressing, "Umm you maybe wanna get lunch some time?"

"hem hem" I looked behind Damian to see a line of customers. Shit I have to work

"Oh I should probably take your order"

Ugggggggghhhh this is so hard, Ex fling at my work when I was voted most likely to succeed!

I continued to take orders and usher people through the line. I hated this job and I was in the busiest part of the day.

Salema came up to me and was looking very sheepish "I might have given that guy your number"

"YOU DID WHAT?!"

"Im sorry, he as cute and and it looked like you guys had history"

"Ya we have history. We basically dated through out hih school! I TOOK HIS VIRGINITY!!!!" and with that the whole shop got really quiet and stared at me. "Oh look I'm off the clock." I rushed out of there as fast as I could. Salema was rushing right behind me

"You took his virginity?!"

"ya... junior year New Years Eve... in his car..."

"Rawlins! who knew you were such a freak?"

"I have to go home and start making dinner for Alec"

I don't think I have ever been so embarressed. I just ancounced something really awkward to my whole entire work place.

When I finally got home I curled up in a little ball and sat ony the couch. I really need to stop feeling sorry for myself. I had beeen on the couch for about an hour and I came to a final conclusion... Im leaving my job at Starbucks. I need something that I am not at someones constant beck and call.

This is it I am done with this shit! I am getting a new job. I started applying every where I could think of. Nothing involving coffee or food!

"Hey Rawl! what you doing?!"

With out looking up from the computer "Leaving starbucks"

"YOUR DOING WHAT?!" he looked completely and uderly shocked "I know you hate it there and all but you said you could not stay home and work and you wanted an income"

"I can's stand it there! I hate every second of it!" I had put my computer down to refrain from throwing it out of pure anger of hating my job. "Guess who came in for coffee today? Just guess?" When he didn't say anything I was up on my feet standing 5 inches away from Alec and he backed up into the chair with a look of straight fear in his eyes "DAMIAN! I saw Damian. The same Damian from high school! The one that put me on the biggest emotional roller coaster of my life. You wanna know what Salema did?! She gave him my number! I was so angry that I screamed to the whole store that i took HIS VIRGINITY!!! You remember that too!!" Alec was about to speak but I beat him to it and spoke again. "I sent my boss an email I am quitting. I am no longer working there" I turned around and went back to my seat and continue typing away.

About 10 minutes later I heard Alec get up from his seat. He came over and kissed the top of my head and wiped away the tear that I did not even realize was there. "I'll go order some Chinese tonight"

The rest of the night Alec and I sent in my application to different buisnesses. It was a smooth night and by the end of the night we had both fallen asleep on the couch. What was I getting myself into. Out of college and unemployed. I was hoping to hear from someone very soon and no one involving food

The next morning I had woken up with a bad crick in my neck, sleeping on couches not smart. I checked my phone to see two new messages

"Aleccccc" I called to the apartment.

He poked his head out of the kitchen "Whats up Rawls?"

"Damian texted me... He wants to talk"

He came over and sat next to me and handed me a cup of tea "you already know what I think you should do"

Alec just smiled. I set my coffee down an just held my head in my hands. "its gonna be okay, this is not a huge deal. You will find a new job and what you should about Damian is up to you. Don't listen to this" grabbing my head "Listen to this" he touched my chest

I glared at him "you just wanted an excuse to touch my chest"

"It is a nice one" giving my left breast a light squeeze.

I hit his arm "get out of here and go get ready for practice. You gotta make the income for both of us right now."

within 15 minutes we were in the car on the way to the training facility. Alec grabbed my hand an gave it a light squeeze waking me from my zone out "you wanna come inside. Check out where your bestest friend is working"

"Not today. I think I am going to go to Coulon and go walk on the beach."

"I love you Rawls." He gave my hand one last squeeze before he left

I exited the car and began driving down the rode to the beach, Coulon was a place everyone went when they were 5 but it was still a place i liked to go when I was older. Through out high school, college when I was home and struggling with issues with my dad or my brother. It was just a nice escape.

I parked my car and looked around, No one was there, it was to early for people to be swimming I got out and found a nice spot on the sand and sat down and looked over the water. I began absent mindedly watching this one family. A mother, a father, and their son. I wanted that one day, but I could not to that jobless and no man in my life.

I got up from the sand and had a new determination. I wiped myself off and began walking back to my car. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and started searching through my contacts.

"hey Damian, Its Rawlins. I was wondering if you wanted to get lunch today?"

end of chapter. give me thoughts. i have some fun ideas for the chapters coming up. I know my chapters are hella short, I was just trying to get some of my thoughts figured out and I think i got them figured out.

I was thinking bout making this all one book or making each book an individual year. let me know what you think
