I woke up to see the sunlight beaming through my window. I got out of my bed, realizing that it was already the afternoon. I checked my phone to see messages from Pately but none from Tyler. It seems to be like most of my calls and texts only been from Pately.
Now that I think about it, Pately was my first friend. I can't remember much from the past but I think we met at school. She just seemed to be there. I could remember her looking down at me...I don't really remember why I was on the floor anyway. "Where ya going?!" Pately said as she reached her hand out to me. I just looked at her confused and silent. Luckily, this didn't phase Pately and she kept being nice and friendly with me. From that point on, we have just been together.
As I put on my lazy clothes and I head downstairs there, sitting on the couch, was Pately. "Speak of the devil" I muttered. Pately was dressed in a light pink sweater and pale jeans with some brown Uggs," Lily! Why are you not dressed for the bonfire party?!" I put both of my hands up," When did Brad's parties start at 2:30 p.m.?" Pately rolled her eyes," Since his parties were at the other end of town in the forest! Now hurry up and get dressed!" I rushed back upstairs, where I took a shower and put on my clothes for the party.
We drove past our super urban friendly town and started slowly entering the forest. Pately was excited as always yet just looking outside something felt kind of off. As I looked out the window I noticed there weren't any birds. "How come there's no birds here? After all it's a forest." Pately was focused on the road," I don't know but I'm glad not to see any flying rodents nearby because" And as Pately leaned close to me she giggled before whispering," that means no bird poop on my shiny Lucy!" Pately went back to her driving position and focused once more at the road. I rolled my eyes," I can't believe you named your car Lucy...your car sounds like an old lady." Patley pouted," I love it! Lucy loves it! You're the only person who doesn't love it?! Why you gotta be so mean to Lucy!" I couldn't help but laugh as Patley kept the pout. I rolled my eyes and rubbed the top of the dashboard," Sorry Lucy for making fun of your name. Hope you live as old as what your name sounds like...for a very long time." Patley frowned for a second," That was a shitty apology. Good thing Lucy is very mature."
A few conversations and some good tunes finally brought us to the where the party was located deep in the woods. You could tell that there was over 200 people here from the already drunked people roaming around like zombies to the huge dance party towards our left as we strolled in. Pately made a beeline towards the cabin, probably where the booze was at. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I turned hoping it was Tyler. Instead it was this guy with who seemed as if he's been running like crazy " football practice wasn't today...otherwise, Tyler wouldn't dare come to this party" I thought. "Are you Lily?" I looked at him once more debating on whether to tell this stranger that I was indeed the person he was looking for...until I noticed Tyler a few feet away from me and the stranger. Tyler looked hurt as he walked off. "Shit! Excuse me!" I yelled as I ran for Tyler.
The stranger stood there as he watched Lily run off, facepalming himself," Of course she hasn't awakened...this is more trouble than it's worth." after a quick pat on for his pants, the stranger then followed after Lily.
I rushed into my bedroom. I couldn't believe that Pately just turned into some...demon! I went back downstairs, about to lock my door. All of a sudden, someone was knocking on the door," Please do not be Pately. Please, please, please." I took a deep breath and open the door. Luckily, it wasn't Pately," I can't believe you just left me at the bonfire, of all people!" Tyler said as he threw his coat on the couch. I grabbed his arm and pulled him into a hug. "Why are you hugging me? This isn't going to make you forgive you anytime soon." that's when I burst into tears, "I'm so glad that you weren't hurt!" Tyler pulled me away, confused,"What are you talking about?!" I told him about the part where a group of teens like us crashed the party and that Pately turned into a demon and the teens and the demon Pately started fighting. I left out the part about the boy who nearly flirted with me.
