A week later:
August's POV:
I finally know how I'm gonna ask Daisha to prom. Her birthday is today. The cheerleaders are throwing her a little party at Kaisha's house. So, my birthday gift to her will be asking her to be my prom date. The girls made some sign that will say will you go to prom with me and a question mark. They will hold the signs up one by one and I'll come out with roses and she's gonna give me her answer. Hopefully she'll say yes. I heard the girls start to talk about the signs, so I grabbed the roses and took a deep breath.
Kaisha: Daisha we got some new sighs for the games and stuff.
Lindsey: Wanna see them?
Daisha: Sure.
*They held up each sign and she read them.*
Daisha: What's going on?
*August walks out.*
Daisha: Why is he here?
August: Because, I came to ask you to go to prom with me.
Daisha: You're kidding right?
August: No.
Daisha: Yes I'll go to prom with you. .
August: *gives her the roses*
Girls: *cheering*
Daisha: Wait.
Girls: *get quiet*
Daisha: Yall knew about this and didn't tell me?
Kayla: Why would we tell you something like this?
Daisha: Because we tell each other everything.
Jasmine: Well we couldn't tell you this.
Daisha: Did he pay yall?
Girls: No.
Kaisha: Look, you were the only one without a prom date. So of course we were gonna help him out with this. You gotta go to prom.
Daisha: Alright, but where can I find a dress in time?
Kaisha: That's already taken care of. When he told me about this, I went ahead and got you a dress. You're gonna love it.
Daisha: What color are we find wear?
August: Blue.
Daisha: Okay.
August: I gotta go.
Daisha: Call me later.
August: Iight. Bye.
Girls: Bye.
*August leaves.*
Destiny: So how you feel?
Daisha: Excited, but shocked at the same time.
Ashely: Why shocked?
Daisha: Because, yesterday we were talking about prom. He was asking me if I was going and I told him no because I didn't have a date. And then I asked him and he said yea. He said that there was someone he was gonna ask to be his date, but he didn't know how to ask her. So we talked some more and then went to bed. Then for him to do this and asking me to be his date to the prom, it shocks me because it was me all along.
Krystal: Well, you did want him to ask you.
Daisha: Yea I did, but I honestly didn't think he would. I mean we all know how I feel about Aug. I've had deep feelings about him for years. So of course I would wanna go to prom with him.
Kaisha: At least you got what you wanted.
Daisha: Yea I did, now I'm excited.
Kaisha: It's getting late yall. Let's go to bed.
Girls: Okay.
*They turn the TV on and the lights off and go to bed.*
