Another Secret (Paused)

Chapter 5

I was running through a meadow, the sun was shining and flowers were everywhere

It was like a fairytale, I skipped around before throwing myself into a patch of flowers but then I saw him

He was taking small steps to me, I stood frozen not knowing what to do

"Max" I said smiling he was my bodyguard but something felt off

He came closer and then Chloe appeared behind him, she was screaming

I looked back up to see Max directly in front of me, I hadn't noticed before but now it was clear as day he had a knife in his hand

Before I could do anything the knife was struck into my chest and I feel to the floor

My breathing became ragged and I tried to get the knife out but it wouldn't budge

Blood seeped out staining the flowers and all the sun seemed to fade out

"Ahh" I screamed waking up from the nightmare, my breathing was fast and raggedy and my forehead was full of sweat

But it wasn't a nightmare just a memory

I calmed down my breathing before looking around. I was in my room, there was a tube sticking out of my arm and I had a bandage on my chest

"Your awake" said Emily in relief coming to my side

"Yeah" I muttered trying to wrap my head around everything that happened

"You shouldn't be awake yet, your still weak you need more sleep" said the nurse, who I didn't even realize was there

She came closer with a needle which I soon realized was a sedative

"No, no, not that" I said squirming away

"You need it to sleep Ms.Eve" she said coming closer

"Please not that" I said beginning to freak out

"Your heart rate is elevating" said the nurse grabbing my arm to stick the needle in

"Stop" said Emily pushing her away from me and I took some deep breaths

"Can't she use her sleeping pills" asked Emily and the nurse thought over it before nodding

"Here" said Emily handing them to me and I took some pills before I felt myself going into a deep dreamless sleep

~A few hours later~

"Ugh" I groaned as I woke up from my sleep, Emily was no longer here and neither was the nurse but Chloe was

"Hey sis" she said coming closer, I sat up realizing I no longer had a tube in my arm

"How are you feeling" she asked

"Better, uh where's Emily" I asked

"She had to go home but she said she will see you tomorrow and the nurse gave you the all clear" she said and I smiled from the good news

But then remembered how I even got into this mess in the first place... Xavier. My smile turned into a frown and my mood immediately dampened

"What's wrong" asked Chloe confused of my sudden change of mood

"Nothing" I said faking smile

"Is it a boy" she asked seeing right through me

"How do you always know" I said sighing with a small smile

"Sister instinct, now spill" she said scooting closer to me

"Okay well it all started the first day of school, I was in the cafeteria and this guy started hitting on me" I said only to be interrupted by Chloe
