Time to Sing

Yoandri's POV:

It was finally sixth period. I walked into the room and instantly saw Sophia. She motioned me to go with her. I gladly listened but first, I went to introduce myself to the teacher. I went with Sophia and everyone from lunch was there, so I was excited.

The bell finally rang, so Mrs. Torres went to the front and began class. "For those of you who haven't noticed, we have a new student joining. Yoandri please come up here."

I was nervous. Why did she want me to go up there?? "Everyone in this class had to sing a song to the class on the first day. Since it is your first day in the class, you will be asked to do the same."

I wasn't prepared. I had no clue what to sing. Also, Sophia would be hearing me sing so it made me slightly more nervous. What should I sing??

I literally had like two seconds to chose a song, so i decided would sing one of my all time favorites, Back to Black by Amy Whinehouse. Amy Whinehouse is one of my all time favorite singers. Her voice is so beautiful.

I began to sing and poured all of my feelings into it. Well at least I felt like I did. Once I finished, everyone was clapping and cheering for me. I smiled and thanked all of them. Mrs Torres said, "That was amazing Yoandri, you are going to be an amazing addition to the class."
I responded by saying, "thank you so much, that truly means a lot to me."

I walked back to where I was sitting with Sophia. I asked her,"so what did you think?" She just stared at me. She hated it. I knew she did because she wasn't saying anything. "Was I that bad?" I asked her. "Omg no you were absolutely perfect. You have one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard in my life," she said. "Thank you so much Sophia, you don't know how much that means coming from you."

She asked, "why does it mean so much coming from me?"

I have a crush on her, but she probably doesn't see me that way. Dammit, what do I say now? Should I just tell her? Nah, I'm going to scare her away.
