Yuni is a fast runner. She was gone within second. Me and Raizel took off back to the village. I could see flashes in my mind of Yuni. That girl is in trouble.
When we made it outside the gates, Raizel suddenly grabbed my hand and stopped me. I looked back up at him.
Was he worried?

Mei: Raizel, I'll be fine. Its not like I haven't done this before.

Although I was trembling only a little.

Mei: just...have my back okay?

When we finally got inside, it was as disastrous as I thought. Everyone finally noticed us.

Yuni: stay back, it's dangerous? Run away while you still can?

Immediately, with my quick speed, I rushed and grabbed Yuni, yanking her free from the grip of whatever those black whips were.
Then it suddenly tried to grab me, but I stepped down upon it.

Mei: don't you dare touch me with those filthy things...
Kurmark: ...!?
Lansia: so your back. Thank goodness. I've been looking for you.

Lansia had approached Raizel.

Kurmark: more to kill? Oh well, I'll just have to sick their blood too.
Lansia: wait a second, lord Kurmark. Give him to me! Please. I really want that man. I don't very much care for the girl.
Kurmark: hmm...alright. You can deal with him yourself.
Lansia: thank you. Thank you so much.

Kurmark looked over at me.

Kurmark: I'll suck your blood then.

More of those black whips sprung at me, but I cut through all of them with ease. I have to protect Yuni.

Mei: Those who have sinned and toyed with the lives of humans...WILL BE PUNISHED!!
Kurmark: ...!

I put Yuni down and she immediately ran towards Kate's side.

Lansia: did you hear him? You should thank me. I just saved your life. Now your mine.
Raizel: step aside.

I was a little shocked...Raizel finally spoke up. But Lansia was even more shocked. She couldn't speak at all.

Raizel: you have no right to block my way.

Raizel walked passed her, lansia was frozen in place.
Kurmark let out a maniacal laugh.

Kurmark: it looks like he doesn't want you, lansia. And this woman is spewing nonsense. I guess there's no reason for me to let them live.

Raizel was now looking up and facing Kurmark.
What was he about to do?
Can he possibly take on Kurmark?

Kurmark: hmm? Wait, I sense something...are you a noble?
Hehehe. I see. I should have known. But even a noble like you is powerless before my strength now. Unless one of the family leaders comes, no one can stop me. I can easily control you with my mind...now, BOW TO ME-!
Raizel: shut up. And...how long do you think you can look down on me?

Suddenly, the whole stage Kurmark was standing on came crashing to the ground.
Kurmark was now kneeling before Raizel.

Amazing.

Such powerful mind control... and only with his words?!

Kurmark: ugh...hehehe...your powers are quite impressive...but I can't just sit here and let you stop me.

Black whips sprung from the ground and grabbed hold of Lansia and Karr. He started draining their blood.

Karr: w-what are you doing?

Kurmark stood back up to his feet.

Kurmark: I don't know who you are, but you cannot defeat me here. Even if a family leader were to show up. As long as the people here are supplying me with their strength, I'm more powerful than any Lord.

Kurmark was about to blast Raizel. On my instincts, I quickly moved and took on the blast. I was able to shield him easily.

Kurmark:...! H-How did she stop my attack...?

Since the blast was made of energy I was able to absorb it. He was about to blast another more powerful one at us. I quickly put up my hands to defend and absorb it again. It came at me a lot more powerful but it being just energy I could easily absorb it.

Mei: ...screw off.

I blast back at him with some of the absorbed energy. Even though it was a small amount, he got hit back back pretty hard. But he was able to stand back up and face us.

Kurmark: .....who...are you two? You're both definitely not family leads. But how are you so powerful?

Neither of us answered him. He has no right to know who I am. Rai might have had the same thought.

Kurmark: don't intend on answering me, huh? Hehehe...it doesn't matter.

He slowly reached in to his cloak.

Kurmark: I was just thinking that it's time for me to use this anyway. Its actually better this way.

Kurmark pulled out a giant red stone.
That's a blood stone!
How did he get his hands on a blood stone?!
If he absorbed that, all hell might break loose.
Kurmark has suddenly stab himself with it. I couldn't have stopped him. And just as he absorbed the stone, he began to turn into the giant ferocious red beast with black wings.

Mei: oh no.
Kurmark: hahaha...I've never felt such power! Its coursing through my whole body!! Nobody can stop me now!! Its time to kill you two and suck your blood. You're not family leaders, but you both have the same remarkable power. So your blood will be far more useful than these stupid humans!!!!!

Kurmark now blasted a field of blood at us.
I can't absorb that! Neither can I block it!

I didn't feel the impact of the blast one bit. I slowly opened my eyes.
I was safe...?
I was wrapped up in Raizel's arm and close to his chest.
I looked over and noticed we were fine.
Did Raizel...block that blast of blood?!
I looked up at him and for the first time....
