My shift at work practically flew by, very little customers were in and I mostly worked the floor by myself. I made sure to apologize to Jamie about me leaving early the other night, which she quickly told me that it was alright and that she was simply glad that I was okay.
At last it was six and I ran up the back staircase that led into the main house. I stepped into the bathroom, checking my makeup and fixing my hair with a curler Jamie had left out on the counter, creating waves at the bottom of my long hair.
"You going somewhere?" Jamie said from behind me, making me jump. I held my hand to my chest, trying to control my breathing as we both laughed at my reaction.
"Yeah." I said breathlessly, still chuckling at myself. I continued to fix my hair as I looked at Jamie through the mirror.
"Where are you going?" She said, leaning on the door frame.
"Harry's taking me out to eat. I'm not sure where though." I replied.
"Ohhh, so you're going on a date then?" She laughed. I blushed at her words.
"I guess so." I admitted quietly. I examined myself in the mirror. I wore a comfortable, dark grey short sleeve top and a pair of dark wash skinny jeans that were a little tight for my liking but would have to do for now. My black Toms completing the outfit. My hair, which I had pretty much finished, hung in loose waves that came down a little under my breasts. My makeup was done lightly, only a little mascara and eye liner around the upper inside of my lash line, making my green eyes pop but not over doing it.
"Well I think you look lovely." She said with a smile. I smiled back and leaned in to hug her. When she pulled back a little she kept her hands on my shoulders, "I think he really likes you. I know that you like him too.. the way you smile when you talk about him." I blushed even more, my cheeks becoming furiously red.
I didn't think Harry liked me that much. I didn't see what he saw in me. But considereing I had never really been that good with guys before and no one had ever really taken intrest in me.. I wouldn't say I knew a lot about stuff like this in general.
"I don't know about that." I mumbled to myself.
"I sure think so." She said with a wink.
It was almost 6:10 and I hoped Harry wasn't waiting outside for me already as I hugged Jamie goodbye and jogged down the stairs and to the front door. Harry's car wasn't outside when I got there so I stepped back inside and sat down on a small chair they had in the front room. The clock ticked past slowly and before I knew it, it was almost 7. Jamie had gone back down to the bar, which I was almost happy for. I didn't want her to see that I was still sitting here by myself. I decided to sit outside for a little bit to wait since it wasn't too cold tonight. I sat down on the steps that led up to the front door. I was waiting for a while, wishing I had a jacket, when Harry's car pulled up. I stood and made my way to the passenger side of the vehicle. Harry barely looked up at me as I got in. He seemed almost agitated or annoyed, who knows what at. I was a little mad as well; I thought he had forgotten about our plans. I leaned my head on the side of the window, choosing not to deal with whatever attitude he might be in for the night as Harry pulled away from the house and onto the street.
