sammy stayed distant from josh, although he'd come to guernsey every once in awhile.
sammy knew she'd have to tell josh how she felt, she felt selfish. that she could just tell him she didn't have any attraction to him.
it was one of those days where josh was visiting.
"hey sammy." he said giving her a peck on the cheek. she closed the door, balling up her fists by her side from frustration.
"hi josh." she said, showing a fake smile. josh entwined his long fingers with hers. they weren't officially dating, just romantic interests really.
"how's it been, just recor-" he shut his mouth before finishing his sentence.
"recording what josh?" she said, staring into his eyes.
"nothing." he said, shrugging. he took his hand from hers and rubbed it on his pants. this was sammy's perfect time to get mad.
"is there something you're lying to me about?" she harshly says, gritting her teeth. josh picks up her hand rubbing her palm with his thumb.
"what? no. i wouldn't lie to you." he said, apologetically. sammy felt so bad she was doing this. she yanked her hand from josh's.
"if you're going to lie to me, get out." she said, pointing to the door. josh just stared at her.
"go!" she yelled. josh hurrying up, left through the door. sammy teared up, and kept reminding herself this was to save his feelings.

josh just stood there staring at the house. 'what had come over her?' he thought. what he just saw wasn't sammy, it was someone else. josh walked to his car in the pouring rain, heading to his hotel.
he reached his hotel, laying in the bed just looking at the ceiling. 'what the fuck did i do?' he thought. he drifted off to sleep.
when josh woke up, he had 3 missed calls, and a text from sammy that read.
sammy
we need to talk
