Joey POV

This morning was amazing. I finally got the script for my role and I'm looking over it and squealing in excitement.

I'm so surprised and happy i got this part. I've gotten great at acting from all of my past and I'm just so thankful I'm able to do this.

I feel like i have a voice again and I'm finally being heard. That feeling of me screaming and nobody's hearing me is gone.

I feel like when i start talking, everyone quiets down and truly listens to what i have to say. I miss this feeling and I'm so thrilled its back.

The only bad thing is, Luke's getting worse. He's already had a few kidney failures in the last three days so they had to remove one.

He only really needs one though.

I feel like Luke's life is being cut short. He's barely lived. He still has so much to experience that i feel awful that this is happening to him. He doesn't deserve any of this.

Not one bit. What he deserves is to be playing the Wembley stadium rocking out.

If only.

My journey entry is cut short by my phone ringing.

"Hello?"

"J-joey ple-please come dow-down here i-its Lu-Luke"

Its Mikey.

"Michael tell me whats going on." I say, while running to my car.

"He's i-in in-intensive c-care. H-he mig-might N-NOT M-MAKE IT" Michael sobs.

"Im on my way okay keep me on the phone." I say speeding out of my driveway.

What usually takes twenty minutes to drive, took me five. I was speeding at about sixty six miles per hour.

It's currently 10:37 pm on February 27th.

My worst fear has arrived, nows the time to count down.

I ran into the hospital lobby and Michael ran up to me and squeezed me.

"It's alright Michael." I say, trying to calm him down. He lets go of me and i follow him to the area where everyone was sitting.

Ash, Mikey, Cal, Liz, Lukes Dad, Ben, Jack, and now me.

We all sat in silence, and I drifted off into sleep.

Dream*

"Come on Joey you can do it lets go kid over the fence." Alex cheered. The team followed.

I took a deep breath and stepped back into the batters box, my shiny new full composite Demerini bat in hand. It was bases loaded, two outs, two strikes.

I looked at the pitcher ready for the next pitch. She started her wind up and let go of the bright yellow ball.

I followed the ball right into the plate and swung the bat as hard as I possibly could. I made fair contact and it went straight over the fence.

As i rounded first base i slowed down, knowing i just scored the winning runs. By the time i rounded third base, my team was crowded around home plate screaming and shouting.

I looked at my dad and my brother and smiled widely. My dad was cheering as loud as he could and my brother was filming and chanting my name.

Dream part two*

It was the last inning and once again, bases loaded two outs and a fresh batter. No balls no strikes. If she hit anything past the infield we lost lost the championship game.

Now in travel softball its competitive as hell. Alex was my amazing catcher and she gave me the drop-screw sign. I was the pitcher.

I started my wind up and pitched the ball, which landed right where it was supposed to be.

Strike one.

Alex gave me the inside rise sign and I pitched the ball once again.

Strike two.

One more pitch till we're champions.

It was a low inside drop screw.

I pitched the ball and the girl hit it straight at me.

I caught the ball and everyone started screaming.

We've done it. We're champions.

"Hey joey. Jaaaayyy? Wake up."

Im woken up from my dream by Michael violently shaking me.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Yeah. Sorry" i say. "No its fine i haven't slept at all." He says.

"What time is it?" I ask him. He pulls his phone out and clicks the lock button. "11:22" he says.

"Thanks." I say, sitting up.

He gives me a small smile and closes his eyes.

I stay awake. The thought of how Luke's doing slowly killing me.
