A few months passed by and
we were almost inseparable. I grew close to him and felt that all I needed
was him. We dated for two years until he called me at work on a warm
summer afternoon, and said,
"Babe I made a plan for us, leave work at 6pm, and get someone to
cover your shift."
And so I did just that. We ended up having a picnic on a grassy hill,
eating my favorite sandwich from his diner. There was candlelight, wine
glasses, and a blanket laid out on the ground when I got there. After we
finished our dinner, he walked me down to a flower garden at the bottom of
the hill, where I saw something I didn't expect. Tons of bouquets of roses
bundled into the words "Will you marry me?". There I look at him with tears
in my eyes forming, and he gets down on his knee.
"So, will you?" he asked.
"Of course I will!" I exclaimed.
And there we were, standing in front of the beautiful mix of golden clouds
forming an orange haze above the horizon, lighting up the sky as if lit by fire, yet the haze was so crisp and clear, with the sun as a huge fireball
underneath it all, slowly disappearing.
