''I'm home!''

''Hey Aalia! Where were you? I was so worried!''she hugged me with a relief.

''I'm sorry for not telling you, I was at the roof, just wanted to see the view of the city.'' I apologised.

''Its okay, make sure you tell me in the future.'' She kissed my forehead.

''Eat your dinner now,dear''

''What's for dinner?!''

''Chicken tandoori!''

We talked about how my first day at school went. I told her all about that happened in school, friends I made. That jerk, James. She told me about her office and how much she has to catch up.
After devouring my delicious dinner, I went to my room. As soon as I sat on my bed I was thinking how will Lucas make sure that I reached home, just then I looked at my balcony looking at the sky I noticed that there was a note hanging from above by a thread, It read:
''Goodnight, see you at school tomorrow ;) ''

Smiling to myself I realized shifting to New York seemed a good idea now. As I lay on my bed I thought of today's incident. Why was Shane so mean to me? Is it because I crashed into him? That answer didn't satisfy me. Thank god I made some friends otherwise high school would have been tough. I was so tired that as soon as I tugged myself I feel asleep.

I woke up to my alarm blaring out. Ugh how much I hate getting up for school! With my one eye open i checked the time in my phone. I still had some time to spare but I knew if I went back to sleep I will definitely get late. Reluctantly i got out of bed and went to take a shower. As i got out my mom had kept a cup if coffee on my table as usual and then i remembered how badly I talked to her the day before. I got ready and went outside to find my mom sitting on the couch going through her morning newspaper.
"Mom.." I said.
"Oh! You're ready! Did you have your coffee? I will drive to school, okay?"
"Yeah mom I had my coffee...but I want to talk to you about something."
"What happened, Aalia? Is everything okay?"
"Yes everything's fine. I just wanted to apologise to you about the way i behaved yesterday I shouldn't have said.."
My mom cut me off and said," No Aalia you don't have to apoligise. It was not your fault it was mine. It was your first day and I was so busy that I forgot. I'm sorry."
"No, it's okay.Well, let's go or I will be late."
"Oh yeah sure..get your bag and we will be on our way.'
I went into my room grabbed my bag which was lying on my bed and went downstairs to the car.
Another day of school, I hope I can make it to the weekend and wish that today shouldn't be so dramatic as yesterday. This was my first thought while i was getting ready for my very prestigious school *sighs* Avlohn High.
Mom drove me to school listening to the ancient Hindi songs which she hummed to. I hum along with her, as the rays of sun shone through our window pane. The sight of New York road lanes made me smile where a father was tying the shoelaces of her daughter.

''My little girl has grown up!" Papa said smiling as he looked up at me. It was my first day of school I remember. Squinting at my school dress.
''Daddy! I'm just six!''
Mom came behind me and kissed me and hugged me tight.
''For me you will always be little Aalia.''
We had a group family hug. My little self being suffocated said
''Now let's go to my new world mumma and papa!"
"You and your dad go Aalia.''
''No, ma you come along as well!, papa tell her !"
"Don't argue Aaliyah''
I weeped all the way to school.
It all makes sense now.
Mumma now drives me to school now.

"Aalia, Your new world is here!"
Ma said.
"It seems so!" I sighed.
Mom laughed and kissed me on my forehead.
"Love you,mom"
"Love you too."
I came out of the car trying to control my tears from leaking out. Little did she know that she was my actual world.

"Aali!" Came my friend Megan.Breaking my train of thoughts.
"Hey, Meg!" I catched along with her.
"You look rad today!" I complemented her looking at her yeezees and her ripped legging and her jumper stating," School is not cool!" Her outfit literally screamed Megan.
"Haha so do you!"
Later while walking on our way to our lockers we met up with Nicole and Angela. Angela seemed to be offbeat and didn't look too happy upon seeing me. After our usual gossips and greetings I had some time to talk with Angela since our lockers were next to each other and Megan and Nicole went to history class.
"Is something bothering you, Angela?" I asked.
"I think you should be knowing about it." Angela hissed.
I suddenly remembered and tried connecting things.
"Is this thing about James? Listen Angela, yesterday I didn't get a ride back home and since I was alone and it was late so Mrs. Thomson upon seeing James told him to drop me home."
"Is it like that? And he agreed?" Angela asked in utter shock.
"He had to since Mrs. Thomson refused to save him the next time he got into trouble."
"Thank you soo much for clearing that up. I'm so sorry for taking it the other way. It was just that James and I had some fight and he left me alone at school and then I seeing you getting in his car pissed me off! I'm extremely sorry for misjudging you!" Angela apologised.
"Its alright, Angela. He's your boyfriend you did nothing wrong. So cheer up!" I said and she wrapped me in her hug.
The bell chimed.
"Guess we're late for our first drama class!'' I said.
