Little Do You Know

Drama and spice

Angela, Megan, Nicole and me got in our auditorium where the drama class took place. We weren't late though, the teacher wasn't there still.
I scanned through the room to see any familiar faces but obviously I knew none. The auditorium was a big room. There was a stage on one side and rows of seats on the other. A piano was kept on the left side of the stage and a girl was composing some songs. Some students were sitting on the seats while others were just playing around. But then my eyes struck on a guy standing in a corner staring at me, it was James. Angela thought he was glancing at her and she got so excited and went over to him.
"Ugh. I hate James. He might be hot but why is he always in a bad mood?" Asked Nicole
"I guess that is something we can never know." I said
"Come on guys let's take a place or they wil get occupied." Megan was almost ready to run.
Just as we were about to go to our seats a guy blocked our way.
"Where you think you're going? Newbie."
It was Shane Cooper.
"I don't think I am answerable to you. Get out of my way."
"Better keep that attitude in your pocket. You are in my zone, girl. I can rip you to pieces."
"This attitude? Hah. Well, If this hurts you then you won't be able to handle it when I am in a badass mode. And as long as all these threats are concerned, they might work with everyone else, but they won't work on me."
I shoved him aside just as I was going towards my seat he shouted
"We will see about that soon, miss whatever."

Finally, our teacher arrived and she gave us all flyers for our play "Romeo and Juliet".

*Flashback*

"Aalia, you were so great up on that stage."
"Did you like it, Papa?"
"Oh! I loved it. I am so proud of you! You should pick theatre as your career. You are just too brilliant and comfortable up there."
"Haha papa i am just twelve. There is still time for that. But thank you I am really glad that I made you proud."

He hugged me and kissed me on my cheek and said," i will always be proud of you, Aalia. And remember papa will always be there for you."
His smile was the brightest i had ever seen.

"Hello,Aalia!? Where are you lost?" Nicole shrugged me.
"Uhh I'm sorry. I was just.." I said.
"Anyway, are you gonna fill in for Juliet's role?"
"No, romantic cliché is so not my thing.'' I replied back to Angela.
''I would really like to join in since James has been forced by the teacher to make him Romeo!'' Angela squealed with excitement.
''Aww thats soo goals!'' Nicole gushed.
I winked at Angela and gave her a thumbs up as she went to give her name.
"My dear students!" Our drama teacher bought our attention towards her.
"Since the main characters have already filed in and they have to go through auditions. I will not leave the others and would appoint you roles as well!''
There was a loud sigh from our part.
"Aren't you guys excited?!'' Ma'am said excitedly.
''Now here we go:
Nathan as Count Paris,
Nicole as her Rosaline,
Megan as Juliet's maid,
Lucas as Mercutio,
Shane as the Capulet,
And Aalia as the understudy of Juliet."
She went on and on reading out the names not leaving a single individual without any work.
"This is so frustating!" Megan complained as always.
The sound of bell never sounded so nice to me before.
As we were exiting from the auditorium Lucas caught up to me from behind.
''Hi Aly a.k.a Juliet understudy,'' he said winking at me.
"Listen up." He continued, "I told my mother about you guys shifting and she has invited you and your parents for dinner."
"Thats so sweet of your mom! Sure thing my mother will be thrilled!"
"So today at 8?"
"Yeah cool" I said smiling and we scurried off to our respective classes. It was English and I sat beside Nathan and gave him a smile.
"So how is NY life treating you?''He asked.
"Till now pretty well" I said laughing.
"Or should I say pretty handsome?" Nathan said quite annoyed.
"What do you mean?" I thought.
"Just that you and Lucas look pretty close."
I started laughing.
"Whats wrong?" Nathan asked.
"You look so cute when you are concerned!" I said and I noticed a tint of red on his cheeks.
"I was born cute." He smirked trying to divert the situation and the redness from his cheeks.
Just then Shane passed me giving me a death glare and sat behind me.
"I wonder what is his problem with me." I whispered to Nathan
"Ah! he was born pissed off." Nathan added to the humour. The class started off and we got our assignment which was an essay the rest of the day was a slow umdramatic day which i was cool about. We were heading towards the gate to go home when I realised that I had left my Biology practical notebook which was due tomorrow.
''You guys move ahead I seemed to have left my notebook." I told Nathan and Angela ,Megan and Nicole.
Nathan asked me ''Should I come along?''
''No, it's okay." I said thanking him.
I rushed inside the school premises which may I tell you was far away. I took a breath upon finally reaching there.
"Hadn't I warned you before?''
Everything went blank before my eyes.
