Chapter Fifteen

~One Year Later~

The Void between the human world and the supernatural/Mythical....

Mythical and Supernatural creatures leave and enter the human world quite often...

Any human who wishes to enter the void shall be accompanied by a trusted creature....

Of course they don't need someone with them, It's their lives after all....

Humans and Creatures must follow each others rules...

The worlds are peaceful again....

but for how long?...

"Nice to see you again, Kallum, welcome back!"

"Thanks, Do you think you could help me out with something?"

"Sure thing!"

"Do you know where this place is?"

Brookes P.O.V

I took a deep breath, holding the microphone to my mouth... one speech... then your school years are over...

I swallowed a lump in my throat. "So! The last two years have been pretty crazy, Being seniors, all of these tests, last years crazy 'end of the world' terror. We lost a lot of friends, but we kept going... A lot of you were lucky enough to be taken and cared for by the army, but some of us were left behind, like myself. I met this boy who came to this school, we never really talked, and he's not here now.. I'm not going to mention his name..."

I sighed. "Anyway, I remember the first day of school when I was...-"

I dropped the microphone and froze, standing in the back of the crowd...

Tears stared falling from my eyes. "Kallum..."

I rushed to the end of the stage and quickly climbed off, I ran over to the back of the crowd, I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him tightly, I planted my face into his chest and sobbed. "I started thinking you wouldn't come back! I thought you forgot about me!"

"How could I forget? I've been carrying this necklace everywhere with me.."

I looked up at him, he seems different, He doesn't seem like himself...

"Kallum, are you okay?..."

"Can we go outside? Everyone's staring..."

"Yeah, Sure..."

I let go of him and we both left the building,  I heard a teacher speak on the microphone. "Sorry about that, we'll continue now... Anna Hannicks? can you come up?"

I stood in front of Kallum as he sat on the ground, it was silent, I know he's not going to start a conversation any time soon...

"Kallum?"

"Hm?"

"What's wrong?"

He didn't say anything.

I crouched in front of him. "Kallum! You cant just come see me and not talk, I haven't seen you for ages!..."

 He stood up and placed his hand on his stomach. "I came to give you this back..."

He held out his hand and I did the same, he dropped the necklace in my hand, My face dropped. "You came to give my necklace back? does that mean you wouldn't have come if I never gave it to you?"

Again, Silence...

I looked at his hand which was on his stomach, I grabbed his hand and quickly punched him where he was holding it.

He grunted and dropped to his knees, My eyes widened. "I asked you what was wrong, your hurt and you didn't tell me!"

He looked up at me, his eyes were watery. "D-Do you want to fucking kill me?!"

I sat down in front of him. "Tell me what happened!"

"There's these... fucking bugs in our world."

"What? Did they hurt you?"

"They are one of the m-most venomous creatures in that world..."

"And you were bit!?"

"Yes!"

I pulled up his shirt and my eyes widened, his skin was grey. "I-I don't understand..."

"Once that spreads over my body I'll die, and there's n-no way to cure it..."

"There has to be a cure, there has to be!"

"The only thing I can think of is this st-stone or something... It can resurrect anyone and cure any sickness, It's literally the heart of t-that world.."

"Well? you have to go find it!"

"I don't know where it is! Only a couple people in that world know, and they are probably d-dead now..."

"Then I'll help you find it!"

"That world is like ten times bigger than this one, and its not that big of a stone... I don't have very long..."

"Don't you talk like that! Idiot!"

I Stood up and looked at the necklace in my hand. "I wanted you to keep it..."

"Well hold onto it for me until we find that damn rock... If we do.."

"We will!"

I put the necklace around my neck and held out my hand. "Come on! I've got to go home and tell my parents I'm going to your world, so they don't worry, It'll take less than ten minutes."

He sighed, grabbing my hand. "We wont be having Morrigan or anyone with us by the way.. Only Orias."

"Why's that?"

"They are separating to find the rock on their own."

"I guess that's good..."

I hope everything works out like everything did with that void last year...

A rock, A damn rock! out of millions and millions, we have to find one!
