NatsuXReader: i'll protect you (AU)

Letting Go

It had been five hours since he passed ,the memory still burning in you mind like a fire. You made you way back to your room and watched as the doctors came in regularly to check on you. The only people who came were Lucy and Levy, your father probably didn't care maybe was even glad that you were gone.

That is until one day someone walked in,more like ran in. Looking up you saw something you thought you would never see,your father.

Tears were streaming down his cheeks and for once he didn't smell of alcohol. He stood by your bed look down at you whispering something.

"N-no, oh god (y/n) please don't go"

The only thing you thought was why would he care, he never really loved you. But then you heard what else he was saying through the tears.

"I'm sorry, I know how I acted towards you when mom died was horrible...but please your My baby girl. I don't want to loose you too"

you felt the tears fall onto your hand, all the hatred that you felt all those years started to melt away at the sight of your father, crying. Tears stung at the back of your eyes, oh what you would do to hug your father, and reassure him that everything was okay...

that id until it crossed your mind, you could either stay and live with your father...or go with Natsu. Tears started to stream, you know you should hate your father for what he did, but still.

sitting on the edge of the bed you watch the scene play out, that is until a Nurse came in and placed a hand gently on your fathers shoulder and told him that it was time for him to leave...he refused but then her voice became stern and that's when he decided to leave....and so you were left alone once more.

deciding to go asleep you sat a comfortably the chair will allow and closed your eyes....

 

the summer sun was warming your skin as you relaxed on a beach towel just as Natsu came running towards you from the crashing waves below smiling as he drew closer.

"come on (y/n) the water feels so  nice" 

you propped yourself to a sitting position and smiled,

"and why would i do that" you said in a teasing tone...

"because, your beautiful and i don't want to be getting hit on by another guy'" he now stood over you, blocking the sun.

Pushing your sunglasses to where they rest on top of your head, standing  you smiled...

"fine only for you" 

you were walking in front of him until you felt a pair of arms wrap around you and carry you to the water.

soon  you began to catch on to what he was about to do, truing your head you saw a devilish smirk as he ran towards the salty sea. 

playful laughter escaped your lips and you began to attempt to escape his grasp only that it had gotten tighter.

"oh no you dont..." he said reaching the edge of the water.

a smile pressed onto your face as jumped into the water pulling you close..

cold water surrounded you and Natsu...reaching the surface your wiped the water from your face and took in the air just as Natsu's head poked out a foot or two beside you..

he gave a laugh as he advanced toward you.once he reached you he griped your chin lightly and pulled you into a kiss.

"i love you" he said pulling away from the kiss

"i love you too" you said just as a devilish smile appeared in your face and you splashed him 

"oh thats it..your gonna get it now" 

and soon the two hheread a splash fight..

The memory faded as you drifted off to sleep.
