Chapter 5

Morning came and her sleep was interrupted by obnoxiously loud knocking.
She got up and sighed. I'm getting used to this wake up call, she thought as she stood up lazily, barely able to drag herself to the door.
Before she could answer the door, it swung open so quickly that it smacked into her and sent her flying into a wall.
Just as she was about to stand up, her vision spun, but she clearly saw the face of a man she could never forget. "Pault-" she gasped as his hands locked on to her neck, raising her up against the wall, "Paulter s-stop!" Her voice cracked.
She couldn't focus on the questions forming in her head, such as why he was here, how he got there, and how he even knew she was there.
When she'd realized that no matter how much she'd beg him, he refused to let go. She was slipping out of consciousness. "Ky-Kylo!" She yelled, "Kylo!" Even louder this time. "Hux! Ph-Phasma!" Barely able to breathe, she started running out of hope. But she tried to muster up all the will power she had, trying to pry his hand off, she radiated with fear, with anger, and with sorrow.
Just as she was about to slip out of consciousness for what she assumed was the last time she would, Paulter's grip suddenly loosened, his hands clawing at his neck desperately as if trying to find something around it. Then he flew into the far wall.
Sinfray choked as she desperately gasped for air. She saw a figure in full black hover above Paulter's stunned body, roughly throwing him out of the room and picking her up, gently placing her on the bed. "Kylo." She managed to whisper.
"It's alright, you're safe." His familiar robotic voice said.
"Where did he come from?" She asked as the haziness began to fade.
"He's a new commander, at least, he was until today."
Sinfray tried to sit up but Kylo stopped her.
"Don't, you have to rest." Kylo said, stopping her from sitting up.
"Thank you."
She looked so fragile. She reminded him of someone, a girl who was just as fragile but had the spirit of a warrior, the spirit of a Jedi.
