With You Around

"You're lucky I have a spare room," Taketo chuckles, placing Katsumi's bags down in front of the couch. Placing her hands on her hips, Katsumi chuckles, "Then why did I have to sleep in your room?"

"Because this was my work room before you came, I just got it ready because you needed help," he flushed pink slightly, making Katsumi blush as well, but just a little.

"Thanks..." she mutters, grabbing her luggage. "Mind leading me to the room...? I need some sleep tonight to visit Katsuki early tomorrow."

"Yeah, it's down the hall here." Taketo leads Katsumi down the hall, past his bedroom and the bathroom. He opened the door to his left once they reached the end of the hall. Stepping in, Katsumi noticed the room was quite spacious.

The wide walls were painted a nice mix of cream and beige, the floor a simple dark oak with criss-crossed patterns. There was a wide french window on the opposite side of the door, long, flowy white curtains covering the glass.

On either side of the window were two white shelves, lined with different books and picture frames. The pictures were different ones, ones from back at high school, most likely before the group met at the trip. Some pics were what Katsumi guessed to be the twins themselves, back in their younger, childhood years.

Pictures of them in college as well, while Katsumi was gone in Britain. Some pictures from when Katsumi returned... Lots of memories, huh?

There was a king sized bed there now, and wide eyed, she turns to Taketo. "Why such a big bed...? I thought this was-" "That's an extra I had in storage, so I just gave it for this room."

She smiles at her friend's thoughtfulness. "Arigato, Taketo..." she smiles, giving the man a brief hug. "Anyway, I guess it's pretty late, had dinner yet?" she asked, glancing at the clock sitting on the nightstand beside her bed.

"Nope, guess who interrupted me?" he smirked teasingly, ruffling her hair. "Yah! Okay, I'll cook something, don't ruin my hair."

He chuckles and walks out with her, sitting at the living room, watching a show as she headed into the kitchen, beginning to cook. Taketo had no idea what she was cooking, but once the smell of food wafted into the living room, he immediately strode into the kitchen, where he found the doctor cooking some simple, but tasty looking dishes. Ranging from omurice, onigiri and zosui.

"Oh," the turned to face him, a bowl of fruit salad in hand, "There you are, I was about to call you. Hope you don't mind this, it's a bit simple..."

"It's fine... Smells real good though." he grins, helping her place the food on the table. The pair sit, across from each other as they begin halving all the dishes.

Silence seemed to be a problem between them as they ate, but Taketo didn't have the guts to bring up the question that's been weighing on his mind the whole time. But he didn't need to wait or hide it, as the doctor, who always seemed to know what everyone was thinking, brought it up.

"I guess you're wondering why I left, huh?"

After speaking with her about her condition and how she was doing, Taketo left Katsumi to sleep, as the pilot walked to the bathroom and showered, changing into some new clothes after. He climbed into bed, staring up to the ceiling as he listened to the clock counting the seconds that passed by.

Mind empty and nothing interesting to think about or analyze, the pilot let his eyes drop close, sleep over taking him.

The hours passed and soon, Katsumi awoke to her alarm blaring in her room. Sitting up and rubbing her eyes, the doctor switched the clock off and stood to stretch before chugging down half the water bottle sitting on her night stand.
