Katniss' POV ~

I slowly sip my hot coco with peeta staring at me, and I'm confused as of why.

"What's up? why are you staring at me?" I ask, setting my hot coco down on the counter. He shakes his head and blinks a few times before responding. He looks at me and pulls me into the cramped pantry, that can only fit two people. I'm about to ask what's going on when he puts a finger to my lips.

"Katniss, this is gonna sound strange coming from me but how you just stated those things about the capital..we need to fight. We need to bring Panem back, a free Panem this time. No more poor districts, no more having to fight to keep alive or worse have the games-" I stop him in mid sentence.
"How do you know about the games? I thought those were fake? they're real?" I look at him bewildered, and I begin thinking of that nightmare.
"Katniss, they're real, very real. I think the peacekeepers have been putting some stuff in the food at the hob to make us forget what's truly going on, basically blindsiding us. That's why my father never buys anything from there. He can't trust anyone." he says and his cheeks are flushed. I believe him somehow because that nightmare..I may have not of known what they were but I understood everything of them.
"Okay..but..why should I fight it?"

Peeta gives me a confused look before responding.
"why shouldn't you? your words are so powerful, and the fire and determination you have in you eyes are so remarkable, you could start a riot in minutes. Think about it okay? I would be by your side fighting too," he pauses and leans down, pecking my lips.
"Always.." and that's when I remember when he slept next to me, me asking him to stay with me, he whispered, always. I crash my lips to his, so much fire inside me. He backs me against the wall and holds my hips. I move my hands to his neck and run my fingers through his soft, curly blonde hair. The kissing gets deeper and more passionate. We pull apart and just look at each other, and what we have. We're only teenagers, but somehow time and tragedy has made us grow. Peeta is wise, smart with a strong voice and I have the skills of fighting and hunting. Physically and mentally strong are great together but if you have two people with one of those things..that makes you one whole. A soulmate even.

We step out of the pantry, hand-in-hand, going back to our drinks when peetas brother steps in front of us.

"You guys were supposed to be into work today! why weren't you! it's so busy here and I need your help! dad is sick with a cold and is resting. You two need to get your aprons on and start baking!" he snaps at us. Peeta and I bite our tongues not to laugh and slowly, painfully begin to work.

Hours later, the bakery comes to the end of the day, which in their case is 5 pm. We clean up and lock up the building, making sure everything is secure for the next coming day. I step outside into the winter air and let it fill into my lungs. I love winter. Even tho hunting is way better in spring/summer, the cold is my favorite. As I take in what winter gives, a figure comes up from behind me and stands next to me. I slowly look over and see Peeta. My heart flutters a bit and I open my mouth to say something.

"It's beautiful..isn't it?" I ask, looking around at the snow falling and collecting on the grass and dirt.
"Yes, winter is one of my favorites. The snow and the cold just make it beautifully amazing. I love painting scenery, especially ones to do with winter and snow on the tress.." He trails off, taking a mental picture inside his brain. That's one quality I love about peeta, he doesn't have to be somewhere to have an idea of what to paint, he can remember details easily and can create beauty as if he's god creating earth. I admire this about him so much.

He looks at me, and I look at him. That's when I know what he said earlier was right. I have the ability to see the good in people, but I also have the ability to stand up to someone and have respect for my values. I can't let the capital win. Not just for me, but for prim, for peeta, for Gale, for the districts, and for Panem.

This has got to be stopped one way or another, and If no body else is gonna stand up to this, I am gonna be their reason for hope.

Peeta smiles at me, as if he knows exactly what I'm thinking. This warms my heart in this winter, and it keeps me sane.

The girl on fire is going to make an unforgettable appearance..
