I stared at her in disbelief. What is she trying to say? I blinked and blinked and blinked. I tried to process what she was asking but my mind is just a big bucket of mush that only revolves around food and teddy bears. So it was hard.
"Y-you want me to stay here?" I asked, still not processing what she just asked.
"Yes." She kissed my forehead and rubbed my back, "Your grandmother and father had agreed to the situation. We asked Earl Phantomhive the same thing and he is thinking about it."
I looked at him. He just shrugged his shoulders, tilting his head as well. I shifted my eyes to Sebastian. He had his gaze on the floor, the look of sadness was planted on his pale face. I looked to Lizzie. She was pouting as she stared at her hands which were in her lap.
"I'll tell you this," my mother started, making me face her. "You can stay at the Earl's manor for now. In a few days we can have a grand party, showing the world that we finally found the princess." Okay, that was a little over exaggerated but oh well. I laughed a little.
"If Earl Phantomhive would like, we could have the party at his manor." I gave a glance at him.
He gave another slight shrug at my mothers sentence. "If you would like to. I'd be happy for you to have the party at my mansion."
Light bulb! I grinned.
I cleared my throat, "Mother. Also a little birdie told me that these two are engaged sooo I don't know we could probably... have an engagement party for them too?" I twirled my two pointer fingers together. As my grin kept growing little by little.
My mom clapped her hands once. I chuckled as I looked at Ciel's face. His eyes were wide and his fingers were fidgeting as they held the saucer of his tea cup. Lizzie's face was red as a tomato. It was almost impossible for me to not laugh out loud at them both.
"Great idea. We will have an engagement party and a welcoming home party in two days, at the Phantomhive manor." My mother then started to list things that we needed to do on her fingers. "We must get new dresses as well as suits and an amazing promise ring for the little miss over here." She pointed to the still red faced, Lizzie. "We must get a caterer and some musicians. We will probably need an entertainer for the children." I laughed.
...
Lizzie and I walked around the town arm-in-arm. Ciel and Sebastian led the way to the tailor shop. My mother and father followed behind us, giving nods and such to the towns people who bowed in respect. I just sighed and took another ginger bite out of my chocolate.
We had went into a sweets shop before and I bought a chocolate bar. I shared it with everyone, 'cause I'm nice. I really didn't want to, but I didn't want to be called fat. Hehe.
I pat my hand gently on a young boy's head which was bowed in respect to my parents. I'm pretty sure no one knows who I am yet so they shouldn't be showing that much respect towards me.
The boy looked at me with glistening eyes. A smile grew onto his adorable face once his deep purple orbs met my turquoise ones. A small pink tint dusted his cheeks as he giggled and ran off towards a group of other boys and girls who were probably around the same age as him. I smiled and gazed at the group.
"Come on Alexa. We don't want to be late. We have other things to do too." Lizzie giggled in my ear making me get out of my trance of staring at the group of children.
I faced forward, "right."
A small jingle of bells rang and signaled the shopkeeper that they have guests. The six of us walked into the tailor shop. Dresses and suits of all styles, every color, and every type of fabric littered the inside of the shop. There were two large windows next to the front door that displayed a few dresses and suits.
In the far left corner of the large room, was a messy desk littered with papers, quills, empty inkwells of almost every color, needles and thread of every color. On the right side if the room was a small opening with a curtain to block what was on the other side of the opening. Probably a dressing room. Next to that was a large mirror with a table next to it and a small stepping stool a few feet in front of it. All-in-all, it looked like a normal tailor shop, just a little messier.
"Nina? Are you available?" Ciel called out to the empty shop.
"Is that children I smell?" A young female voice yelled into the quiet shop. A woman with light brown eyes, and brown hair in a curly ponytail on the left side of her head came running from a door that I had not noticed. She has good taste in clothing considering she's a tailor. She wore a tight, long-sleeved top with an attached vest that had black lace stitched onto it. She had a tear-away skirt on. I smirked. I used to use those all the time. Either that or a short skirts or shorts.
Her quick steps came to a halt when she was in front of our big group. She stared wide-eyed at my parents behind Lizzie and I. She then suddenly bowed to them. I sighed.
"Please stand up, miss Hopkins." I chuckled, " We need two dresses and one suit by tomorrow. We're having a party and we need some new attire. I apologize that it's late notice but Earl Phantomhive said that you will be able to have them done in time." My parents do not need new attire because they have their own tailors to make their clothes. They just wanted to tag along with us and explore the city.
Nina hopped onto her two feet, a big smile on her sweet face. "Ah yes. I'll have them done. I just need the measurements and the theme or color of the event."
My mother tapped my shoulder. I turned to face her. "We'll be at the palace planning the party," she said. "We'll be at the Phantomhive manor tomorrow at eight." I nodded and bid her a goodbye before kissing her cheek.
Once the door closed I heard someone let out a breath. I turned to see that Nina had let out the breath. I tilted my head in confusion.
"Anyway lets take the measurements now. Come with me my children." She guided us to where the mirror was," Mr. Stiff go stand over there." I gave a silent laugh.
Sebastian glared at Nina with hard eyes. And I mean really hard eyes. His glare kind of scared me a little bit.
...
My measurements didn't take long. Ciel had done his before mine so now it was Lizzie's turn. Ciel looked kind of nervous. I walked up to him.
"You okay?" I asked, genuinely concerned. He was rubbing his hands together and he had small beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, so of course I would be a little worried.
"Not really," he answered in a whisper, looking away. I saw a small tint of pink of his cheeks. "I have to buy Lizzie a promise ring but I want to do it in secret. I don't want her to know." I tried so hard to not 'awe' at his expression. I just smiled and shook my head.
"I'll help you," I chuckled. His head snapped my way making me laugh a little more. "I know what she likes. We'll have Sebastian look after her while we are getting the ring." He nodded in agreement.
I grabbed his wrist and made my way to Sebastian, Ciel in tow behind me."Sebby, Ciel and I are going to look for something for Lizzie. Meet us back at the manor when you're done."
He bowed with one hand on is chest, "yes my lady." I frowned and mumbled as we made our way out of the door. The little jingle of bells rung once more.
