I groaned.

"He's waking up."

I opened my eyes to see people looking down at me. Once I had full focus, I saw Alan and his parents. And his grandfather.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You fainted," Alan said. "The news was too much." I frown. Then I remember.

"Oh," I sat up to fast and got dizzy. "Ah."

"Lay down," Alan said. I nodded and laid back down. His mother brought me some water. Alan helped me drink it.

"Can you explain to me about my kind, but slowly?" I asked Alan's grandfather.

"Yes of course," he smiled and sat next to me. "Now I'll start from when I met them."

I laid on the couch and listened.

"Felines, the beautiful species I ever saw," the way he said it made me smile. "They were human, but with cat-like features. They were a tribe, living in one place. They prorated each other. But they protected their young ones the most. They live happily and with no problems. Back then the humans didn't know about us. Anyways, us wolf we knew about them. But we never approached them; we kept to our self. But it seemed some wolves didn't like the idea of sharing lands with the felines. They wanted to rid of the felines. Wanted them gone. Those that hated the felines made plans to take them all out. When I heard about it, it was too late for me to react. When I arrived, the village was destroyed bodies everywhere. But I didn't see any children's. I was worry that the wolves took them away." What he was telling was horrible. I couldn't imagine how much they suffer. "But I found the leader alive with a few others. I brought them to the pack; we did our best to tend to their wounds. When he saw I was the good alpha, he confided in me, his secrets. He told me the children and pregnant females were send away to safety. To a safe place. He also told me, he had a granddaughter that was taken by the wolf's."

I looked through the pictures. They were so, many of them. They were all beautiful.

"He told me that they took her, I tried to find her after his death," I look at Alan's grandfather. "But I didn't find her. Now the felines I know, can live for many years. I never gave up. Not even now. I've been tracking her down. But each time they move her. But I know this, those people you call parents, they aren't your family. For sure your mother is the girl I been looking for and your father, well not sure who it is. But your mother may be alive." I thought about it for a bit.

"I never really did feel like I belong," I sigh. I looked at Jones. "If my mother is alive, where could she be at?"

"If she manages to escape, she will go to the safe place," he said. "And I'll take you there."

I stood up to fast. Alan kept me steady. I've learned so much about who I am. I'm not going to stop now. There are more like me.

"I want to go," I said. "Please Alan."

"Alright," Alan sigh. "I'll go with you. If grandfather allows it."

"Yes of course," Jones said. "Since your the Alpha and after I leave this world. You'll be in charge of keeping the felines safe. I have my most trusted men's out there keeping them safe."

"Yes grandfather," Alan held me.

"Let's go," Jones smile.

We went back to the car. I got in. Alan's parents and grandfather went in another car. Alan follows behind. I felt anxious this is new to me. I never knew there were more like me.

"This is why I didn't pick you up that time," Alan said. "I wanted to find out about who you are. To make you happy. See now you know; you're not alone."

He did all this for me.

"Thank you," I lean over and kiss his cheek. "For everything."

"Your welcome," he smiles. "You're my mate I have to keep you happy."

I smile. I did felt happy. My mother, my birth mother could be alive. No wonder I felt alone in my family. And I don't look like anyone. I don't even look like my father. But I have a wolf. Does that mean, my father could be a wolf? I look out the window. We had gone off the road and into a dirt path. The drive was bumpy. I couldn't wait to see them all. But Jones said I was the first generation actually to look human.

"Alan, what if they dislike me?" I look at him. "Because I'm different. I won't look like them."

"They'll like you," Alan assured me. "They can't hate their kind. And it's not your fault your this way. Generations tend to change."

I look down. I pray for everyone to like me. It wasn't long before passing through a gate and enter a town. I looked out the window, and gasp. People walked down the streets smiling. Not people, felines. This town was huge.

"Wow," I smile. "There are so, many felines." The car stopped. Jones opens the door for me. I got out and looked around.

I took a few seconds to admire the place. My tail moved around from excitement. My ears were listening to every sound. But I felt uncomfortable as some stopped walking and stared at me. I hid behind Alan.

"It's alright," Alan hugged me.

"Come," Jones led us to the center of town. Now I felt like a display. Everyone looked at me. And they all whisper. But I could hear them. They wanted to know who I was. I stayed with Alan. I was scared. I was excited before, but now I'm not. I'm afraid. Scare that they'll hate me. "Welcome to the Felines Tribe."

"Move!" I gasp someone was pushing through the crowd. "Move it, people! Get out of my way!" I hid behind Alan. A woman pops out. She looked up at me and tear up."My baby!" She ran up to me and pulled into a hug. I struggle to get free. "Don't fight me. You have any idea how long I waited for this. How much I cried for you." She pulled away. "You're my son, my Sammy."

"What?" I shook my head.

"I am," she touched my ears. "They took you from me. And I try so hard to get you back. But I left empty-handed. I'm so, sorry. The pain and suffering you must've had gone through." I couldn't help but touch her ears. They were black like mine. Her hair was black too, and her eyes are like mine. I look a lot like her. "You're my baby boy. My name is Samantha. That's where you got your name from, from me." She smiled and hugged me. "Thank you, Jones, for bringing him home."

"I did not know he was your son," Jones said. "But you're welcome."

"Your home now, I'm never letting you out of my sight again," I smile. She licked my ear. I pull away. "Sorry mothers instincts."

"Wait," Alan pulled me away. "You're telling me he won't be leaving this place?"

"No," my mother said. "He has to stay here. His my son. Besides we have lots to talk about you can't leave, not now. Stay here."

I looked at Alan. What should I do? I can't just choose. Alan will be sad if I stay here.

"I.." why me.
