Beep. beep. beep. Ugh! it's Monday morning I think sullenly. Sighing I get up to do my morning routine and decide to pull my curly, unruly red hair into a ponytail and slip on my favorite jeans, boots, and my  old, maroon aggies t-shirt. Heading down stairs to make breakfast for my brother Alex and I, since this week I cook and he cleans the stalls and feeds the horses. When I start breakfast, a sweaty Alex walks in and plops down and gulps the water siting next to him, MY water! "Hey get your own you lazy ass!" I growl at him. "What crawled up your ass this mornin' sis?" He shoots back, knowing good and well that I am NOT a morning person just like daddy. But that twinkle in his eyes made him just like momma, a morning person, I thought with a shudder. Speaking of.... "Alex, where is momma and daddy?" I question. "They went to the sell barn to sell that old bull of ours and are looking for another one." Was his reply. Huh I thought Fernando was doing better but oh well. I look at the time and almost choke on the water I was sipping, crap, ten minutes late! Now we only have twenty minutes to get to school when it takes thirty at best. "Alex let's hit the road we're gonna be late, again!" I call over my shoulder as I climb into my brother's ram, while my daddy's old ford he gave me sits with a gooseneck trailer behind it from Delivering hay. "If I'm late again Mrs. Flores will have my head!" He exclaims running to his baby and buckling and driving down our dirt road at the same time.

School for me is the same almost every day, get in, get out, stay quiet and don't give anyone a reason to mess with me. Now, I know that sounds like the talk of a bullied, friendless, coward, but it's best for everyone if they stay away because I have a short fuse and explode like an atom bomb. I haven't got the time or energy to stop the pending explosion pointed at the poor misguided idiot who ticked me off, and can't get into any more trouble at school this year. I run down the halls and into the class as the bell rings and then quietly walk to my seat at the back of the class ready to leave this hellhole parents call school.

After what feels like forever and a day, lunch arrives just in time. As a junior I have lunch with the rest of the junior year and the seniors. Alex is the typical senior guy, plays football, player, has a group of people hanging onto his every word. Then there's me I'm the one that deflates his huge ego for the fun of it, also if not regularly maintained, his ego can't fit in his truck, so as a good little sister I bring him back down to planet earth. Now if you have started to understand me at all then you would know I do not like these people whatsoever, and do my best to avoid them so I normally load my plate with heaps of food and eat in the library. Lunch ends, and we all get back to those so called lessons that we must endure. The rest of the day goes as planned and we are released from this prison for the day.
