Vocaloid 9

Chapter 1

"Vocaloid 9, please wake up."

Aiko once again opened her eyes to see the scientist standing in front of her.

"Do you remember anything?"

Aiko shook her head, only knowing what she was programmed to know. "No, all I know is that I am Aiko Sakine. I am the ninth vocaloid of your creation, my brother and sister are named Hiroaki and Meiko Sakine, and your name is Doctor Melissa."

She nodded and wrote down some notes. "Very good Aiko. Now, we're gonna run some tests. Follow me." Melissa began to walk to a testing room and Aiko followed her, seemingly already knowing to walk into the small room. She looked around, the entire room a pearly white, and the only thing not painted white was the glass in the front of the room.

"What do you need to test first doctor?"

Melissa looked through her list of tests and spoke. "Your singing voice."

Aiko looked through the servers in her body and began to sing. It sounded somewhat robotic but it was mostly a human sound. A soft voice for such a young vocaloid, Melissa thought it was the perfect combination, along with the timid personality she had programmed her with, everything was there that made her the perfect humanoid vocal bot. But a few flaws still needed to be fixed, like her robotic singing voice.

Aiko then finished sing and looked down. "Now what should I do?"

"Please walk around for a minute then do a few dance moves."

As Aiko did this her body movement was very smooth, as if she was a real girl. Melissa smiled and checked off the second test on the list, human movement.

After a few more tests Aiko was permitted to leave the testing room and was led back to her pedestal. She stood on it and closed her eyes as she was directed to.
