The game - A one direction fan fiction

Chapter 5

I think we were all so caught up in the game as everyone went silent, concentrating on their paddle rhythms.

The island started to get closer to us, but so did the blue canoe.

"Paddle harder!" Samantha whined from the back seat, disturbing everyone's concentration

What?! Everyone was giving their best and she was just complaining? Wasn't it obvious that we were trying? Everyone decided to ignore her comment, and take their attention back to the game.

"Come oneee" I said to my selves as the blue canoe was catching up on us.

I let out deep puffs, I obviously wasn't used to heavy exercise at all.

"YESSS" We all screamed in unison as our canoe reached the little island before the blue one did. We jumped out of the canoe, and jumped up and down as we group hugged each other.

I was so happy .. just because we had won a game? Well ... it was a game for 1 million dollar so I understood my enthusiasm.

"Congratulations team red!" John started in her presenter voice, that was actually lower than his own voice.

"Damnit!" Team blue mumbled as they came in on the second place, that made our victory only a little bit sweeter.

"Since you won, you can choose your own location!" An evil grin started to form on john's face as he finished his sentence.

"Here I present you! Island one! Island one has a beautiful beach, with actual sand. There is also a forest on It with fruit trees, so whenever you run out of food you can grab some fruit. It also has a few pots, so you can cook your food! Besides that it also has a fishing net laying around somewhere, but that one is almost useless in that part of the ocean!"

He took a deep breath before he started to describe island two.

" It's safe to say that island two is a pretty shitty island compared to island one! It has bricks instead of sand, and only a little forest, but I suggest you don't go in there unless you are up for some company! But most important, it has no actual beds so you have to make those yourselves! There Is a fishing net as well though, but again..that is probably useless"

My eyes widened, company? No beds? Oh my god.

"So what do you prefer?"John asked us as everyone went silent once again.

We all looked at each other, probably thinking the same exact thing.

" Island one?" Louis took the lead again, we all nodded eagerly in agreement.

"Island one it is!"Louis said proudly as he took his gaze back over to john.

We heard team blue sigh, I didn't blamed them at all, I would do the exact same thing if I wasn't even having a bed or something.

Sorry not sorry.

"Okay then! Team red, we will drive you first, so please get into the boat" John pointed at the boat that was standing right next to the yets ,I hadn't even noticed the boat the whole time..

Blind much?

"Uhm , shouldn't we get our luggage first?" Shane questioned.

He was right, all our stuff was still on the plane.

"Nope" John laughed, popping the 'p'. " You won't get your luggage, at least for the first few weeks, you have to earn it" John's mouth corner raised and formed into a smirk.

What?! No luggage?! All of my clothes were in there! I hadn't planned on walking around in the same clothes for weeks!

"Bu-"

"No buts! Now get in the boat, we want to be there before midnight you know!" John interrupted Shane sarcastically as he pointed to the boat once again.

" Here it is" John announced as the boat suddenly stopped.

The drive didn't took very long, 10 minutes max I believe ...

We all stepped out of the boat, all I could do was stare. It was so gorgeous.

It had a little beach, with exactly eight beds on it.

"Well have fun! And I will see all of you tomorrow! Make sure to get some rest!"John waved at us and drove off.

I dropped my backpack on one of the beds, and sat down, I got caught up in the beautiful view ... I almost forgot that I was here to win a game instead of just a holiday. The sounds of the waves were so calming, just like the light breeze that was slightly touching my skin.

It all went so freaking fast ... yesterday I was in England .. and now I'm here ... On a island, playing a real life game on television ...

I got shooked out of my thoughts as someone planted their backpack on the bed next to me, I turned my head to see who it was.

Courtney.

She gave me a small smile as she layed down on her bed and closed her eyes, attempting to get some rest after our first intensive challenge.

I looked to the my other teammates, to see what they were actually doing ... Most of them were taking a quick nap, but zac wasn't ? He was searching for something in his backpack?

Oh shit!!

I almost forgot that john told us that there were two coins hidden in some of the backpacks!

I quickly grabbed mine and slid my hand into it, hoping that I had chosen the right one.

But as usual, I had no luck at all.

Not a single coin was in there.

Damnit, there went my only chance of winning!

But .. wait!

My eyes widened at my thoughts, He also said that there were 3 coins hidden on each island right?!

I quickly looked to my right and left, to see if anyone was watching me, but they weren't.. I slowly got out of my bed, trying to make as less noise as possible and slowly walked away toward the forest, that would be the most obvious place to hid coins right?

As I turned around the corner, and made sure that now one was able to see me anymore I decided to make a quick run for it.
