Chapter 6

“What the-“ I groaned as I suddenly pumped into something .. Or someone?

I looked up, to meet a pair of gorgeous green eyes that were staring directly at me.

“I’m sorry” Louis apologized as he offered me his hand, helping me up.

“Oh .. uhm .. no problem ” I mumbled, why was I always so awkward?

"What were you actually doing here?” He asked me, still looking directly into my eyes as I stood back on my feet again.

Shit. I hadn’t expected that question, I couldn’t just say that I was looking for coins right? Otherwise he would do exact the same thing …

“I-I… I was just looking for a place to pee?”

I face palmed right in front of him as I finished my sentence. Smooth whitney .. You could have just said that you were going for a walk, or planned on grabbing some fruit or something but oh no … You had to say the most embarrassing thing in the whole world in front of a him!

He looked at me weird for a moment but started to laugh at me in no matter of time.

Great, now he probably thought that I was a complete freak or something.

“Well, what are you doing here than?”I asked, trying to get the attention off me.

“I’m doing the same ”He smirked at me. Damn, He was beautiful.

I shook my head, damnit whitney! This wasn’t the time to fall in love or get a crush or something! Keep your head to the game!

“You .. You were looking for a place to pee?”I awkwardly asked, causing him laugh even harder.

“No I’m also looking for coins” He chuckled.

“oh” Damn, sometimes I wish I was a much better liar, it could have been helpful right now.

"Have you already found some?”He asked me as I played with my hair in-between my thumb and index finger.

“Nope .. you?”I asked him, even though I knew that if he had one, he wouldn’t tell me.

“Nope”

We stood awkwardly in front of each other, not knowing what to say or what to do.

“Maybe we should search together? Otherwise the others might think we are up to something”

As much as I would love to say no, he was right. If the others saw us searching separately they would immediately remember the coins that were hidden on the island, and that only made our chances of finding one smaller.

I silently nodded in agreement.

“So uhm, Why did you actually participate in this program?” I asked him, being the nosy me.

It was silent for a bit, did I do something wrong? I wondered as he was just staring at the ground.

“Hello?” I tried to get him back to reality.

“Oh sorry, I was just think about .. something, what were you saying?” He looked up again and continued with searching.

“I asked why you participated in the game?” I repeated.

“Oh, I would like to get a new car, an Lamborghini would be nice ” He smirked. “what about you?”

Damnit. I hadn’t thought about what I would tell everyone yet .. I mean, I couldn’t just say; Oh well; My parents died when I was 12, My grandmother refused to take care of me, so they send me all the way over to England, because there were actually some foster parents who wanted me, and in entire America there were no people at all who wanted to adopt me. And then my foster mother got the great news that she was going to have a kid her selves and I got kicked out of the house once again! Now I live with my friend and her parents who pay for everything, so I would like to get some money out of this program so I won’t look like a complete selfish whore.

I lightly chuckled at my thought, wow my life was pretty messed up. But If I would explain all of that to any of me teammates they would probably find me pathetic and stuff .. So I decided to keep it a secret.

“Oh same” I simply answered his question, He seemed to believe me as he just gave me a small smile back.

My lying techniques were getting better and better!

“I  think we should go back now” I yawned, We had probably searched for 3 hours now but still hadn’t found any of the coins, the others were probably wondering where we were …

“Yeah I agree, It’s getting late” He nodded.

We actually had no idea what time it was, since we left both of our watches in our suitcases that were still in the plane.

“Uhm.. Do you know the way back?”I hesitated, because I had no idea where we actually were .. the island was apparently bigger than I thought at first.

“Yes just follow me” He made a superman pose, causing me to giggle. This boy was different than all the other ‘pretty’ boys I had ever met, normally non of them wanted to look at me , let alone talk to me, they all though I was a freak, because they actually knew my story .. at least they thought that they knew my story …

“Louis are you sure that you know the way back?! We have been walking for hours now!” I whined, my feet started to hurt super bad.

“Well, would you still believe me if I would say that I absolutely know the way?” He chuckled and turned around to face me.

“Seriously?! Couldn’t you mention that before we got totally lost?!”

“Well.. at first I really thought to know where we were going! But all those trees look the freaking same”

I actually laughed as response, I could see the humor in it.

“Well, My feet hurt, can we take a break please?” Normally I wouldn’t whine that much, but this was unbearable.

“Jump on my back? I will give you a ride” He smirked as he pointed to his back, gesturing me to jump on it.

“You are kidding right? You wouldn’t even be able to hold me for like 5 seconds” I raised my eyebrows. I would probably brake his back within seconds.

“Come one! Don’t over think” This boy was out of his mind, couldn’t he see that I wasn’t the skinniest person?

“Jump” He threatened while smirking.

I playfully rolled my eyes and jumped on his back

I squeezed my eyes tight, afraid that he would lose his balance and fall, but he didn’t. He kept me on his back without any problems

“I told you so ”He smirked “You’re super light”

I guess I wasn’t as fat as I thought.. I got bullied a lot for my weight in high-school, since then I always felt insecure about my body. Just like 99% of the girls population

“I think we need to go that way!”I pointed to a larger tree on our right.

“No I think we need to go to the left, we already went to the right!”

"Ever single tree looked the facking same." I mumbled.

Suddenly I saw something sparkly and gold out of the corner of my eyes, I squeezed my eyes once again, trying to get a better view of it.

DAMN! It was a coin! It was laying right in front of us, in one of the larger trees.
