It was all a blur. How he was shot and bleeding. How the car swerved and hit hard into a tree. We were at least going 60 miles per hour. How she died instantly and me and my friend had been flung out of the car in the woods.
She was bleeding, bad. So much pain and screaming. I couldn't hear. What was she saying? Why did it have to happen to me? On my birthday!

I jolt awake. I kept getting these dreams. I hated them. Why did it have to happen?

I was scared to sleep at night, even if it happened 7 years ago. I heard creaking and I needed to get out now. I get my bag, my broken phone I still had yet to fix and I leave. To scared to be alone at home.

It was early in the morning. I pulled on my hood so no one sees me. What was the point to be seen? No one remembered me and if they did it was pity they felt.

I always got to the diner early in the morning, small town meant everything was walking distance and everyone knew everyone. I was older now, I looked very different then I had before.

Mr. Perkins was already there waiting for his morning coffee. I open up the doors and he holds it open for me. "Good morning Ava, sleep well?" He asks.

"Morning Mr. Perkins. I slept wonderful," lie. "Need any help cleaning today?"

"Sure, when's your break?" I smile and help him take a seat. He was really old.

"Around noon, like always."

"Okay, then cleaning will be then. I'll make us sandwiches and tea. I'll pay you 50£ this time."

"A bit much, huh?"

"Ava I'm getting old and I have no one to leave my money too you need it most." Pity, that's what he felt.

I made his coffee and hand it to him then I go in the back. Put my blonde locks into a low pony tail, I don't even bother to put my name tag on. Harry, our cook, came in and started making stuff as I slip around unnoticed. Anne cox was the owner and Harry was her son.

She had hired me but I told her I wanted to be hidden, not remembered and she helped me. Out of pity she did it. In this town Ava Longward was no more. I was just blurry face.

"Thank you for cleaning my house, Ava!" Mr. Perkins told me. "Your welcome, will you be by for dinner?" I ask him. "Of course," as I leave his gate a strange car comes driving by. No one drove in this town. The car was new, who was this person?

"Do you have a ride home, Ava?"

"No Mr. Perkins, you know I walk."

"You should get a ride it's pretty late." He warns. "I'll be fine," I told
Him. He seemed pretty worried so I lied to him, "I'll  ask Harry our cook for a ride." He finally seemed satisfied.

"Okay, thank you. Have you seen that new boy that came into town?" I shake my head. "No, unless he came in the diner while I was on break."

"He's a handsome one he is. Lives next door to me, I might have him help me some times."

I should've listened to Mr. Perkins. I didn't actually think he would be right, as I was walking home I was attacked.

Was this the end? I heard boys shouting around me yanking at my cloths and hair. I tried to scream but it was no use, no one would hear me nor would they care.

Why was I out so late? I was new to this small town, my stupid father had cheated on my mom. Once he left I paid bills and then my mom took him back. I had enough, I wasn't going to sit around and pay for a stupid no good.

I actually liked this town, once I parked my car I wasn't planning on taking my car anywhere else since everything was walking distance.

Walking in the dark just seemed to soothe me. Until I heard screaming and a bunch of boys beating up on someone. "Hey! You boys scatter before I call the cops." The boys pull away and when they see me they scatter and there is a girl on the ground. Beaten and bruised, I go over to help her up but she yanks away.

She starts to run from me, a little lump in her run. She turned for a split second, I only got a glimpse of her eyes.

Her bright blue eyes.
