Hey! Yes I know its been a while, but I have decided to make a writing schedule. Every weekend I will update. That way I don't have to worry about forgetting the characters. Enjoy!
*I realize now that in the last chapter he said her name (Leah Thompson). Just keep in mind this is a flashback of these moments and he knows her name now, but in these moments he doesn't know. So, if he mentions it before she tells him then that's an intervention of his current thoughts. I hope this doesn't confuse you!

I was in a bathroom. I'm gonna be honest here and say that I have eaten lunch in a school bathroom before. It was a rough day and I only got halfway through my ham sandwich before gagging at the smell of urine. But at a party? Worst x1000. There was some kind of underwear, maybe a thong..in the corner and a bright pink lacy bra hanging from the door knob. It was originally on the shower curtain but it fell on me when I moved it, causing me to scream and throw my hands wildly, therefore having it somehow land on the door knob.
I thought back to 3 minutes ago when I saw the girl with Marco in a bed. Kissing. It was almost not surprising. I mean, he was Marco Vasquez the guy who had girls fantasizing over him. And she was the mysterious, hot new girl who was the talk of the guys locker room. And me? I was just some lame smartass who annoyed my classmates to no end with all my smart talk, and is often called gay due to my proper habits and the fact that I love to watch Downton Abbey (which is a fantastic series by the way). But the fact of the matter is, as I stood there watching them hold each other and kiss passionately, all I thought was that this shouldn't be any bit surprising. I probably should've held a flag and cheered them on. But I closed the door and walked away.
And now, I am sitting on a toilet in a bathroom that smells like booze and pee wondering what the hell I am going to do with myself.

Finally, I took a deep breath and decided to leave my toilet thinking room. I splashed some cold water on my face and gave myself an internal pep talk. Then, I stepped out. The party hadn't changed a bit. Except that now it's that stage at the party when all the designated drivers leave with their extremely drunk friends, couples either go home or stay here, and all the emotional people who had a sucky night run to the bathroom in tears. Fun.
I warily walked to the bedroom where I saw them. It was the 2nd door to the right. I approached it with caution. Man, I could almost smell the sex. I knocked and to my relief, or concern, there was no answer. I counted to three and then flung open the door. Nothing. There was no one there. The bed was made, there were no undergarments or evidence that anyone had been there in the last two hours. I closed the door feeling perplexed. Had I drunk anything? Nope. Eaten anything? Nope. Was I hallucinating? Maybe. This night was just getting weirder by the hour.
I walked downstairs to find the only two people at the party that would talk to me. Marco and Oliver. Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder how it went between Oliver and Jenna. I mean the guy had told her he liked ducks. If I was her, I would be seriously concerned and maybe even talk to the guidance counselor. I passed the living room which had about 500 drunk people who were passed out in cringe worthy positions.
I checked the kitchen but all I saw was two guys who looked higher than the roof and some spilled sodas. I ended back up on the 2nd floor with no sign of either of them. Huh, that's weird. I realized that some people were outside because the back of the house was very spacious. I went down the stairs, stumbling over a blonde girl passed out on the ground. I stepped outside and immediately started shivering. I didn't realize how cold it had gotten. I rubbed my arms and scanned the backyard. There was only about five people out here. Two were getting down and dirty in the pool, one was banging his head repeatedly against the shed, one was a cheerleader who was on her phone, and one was passed out. Not the ideal people to ask.
I saw the cheerleader hang up on her phone so I walked over feeling slightly hopeful.
"Um, excuse me?" I asked tentatively.
She turned around and arched a brow.
"I was just uh, wondering if you've seen Marco Vasquez or Oliver Bright?"
"Marco left about ten minutes ago you just missed him. I think I saw that new girl with him. And as for Oliver, I have no idea." She said shrugging.
I sighed. Typical. Everyone knows about Marco but no one has a clue when it comes to Oliver. That sly little dog probably left the party after feeling mortified in front of Jenna.
"Well thanks uh.."
"Lindsay. Call me Lindsay." She said giving me a tight smile.
I nodded and started towards my car. One of the party rules Oliver, Marco and I established was when going to a party, we must go in two cars. That way someone can leave if they need to while the others or if there's only one person left, which would be me in this case, has the other car. So either Oliver took Marco's car or he got another ride. But, we're supposed to contact the others when we leave. Both of them broke that rule. And that's the only part that confuses me.
October 31st 9:15 pm
I arrived at my house exhausted. I stepped through my door and basically dragged myself upstairs. It had been one heck of a night. I opened my bedroom door and threw my bag on the floor somewhere. I turned the lights on, turned around and yelped. There stood the amber eyed girl looking frantic with wide eyes and a disheveled appearance.
"What you- What? What are you doing here? How did you get in?" I stumbled over my words with my heart still beating a million beats a minute. I got scared very easily and these kinds of things were not good to my heart.
"I need you to do me a favor. I walked here and since your parents were already asleep I just thought I'd wait for you up here." She said breathlessly.
"Wait why did you walk here? I thought you got a ride from Marco or something and were you kiss-"
"Nevermind that." She said still looking frantic. " I need to sleep here. It's only for one night and I can leave really early in the morning. I promise no one will know." She said slowly letting me process her favor.
"I-I mean I guess you can. But do you need to borrow pajamas or anything?" I said running a hand through my hair.
She looked down at this and blushed a bit. "Yeah, um, that might be nice." she replied shyly.
I smiled at her reaction and went to get some clothes for her. I pulled out a red t-shirt and some basketball shorts. I threw them to her.
"That should be comfy enough." I told her.
She smiled at me and went to change. I collapsed on my bed and waited for her to return. Do I sleep with her on the same bed? Do girls like that? I groaned. I had no clue what to do when it came to the female species.
Five minutes passed then ten. I wondered what she was doing. I only got more tired and eventually sleep came to me in one big wave and I was out cold.
Leah's POV
I ran my hands through my messy hair one more time. It didn't look any nicer. I sighed and gave myself one more hard look. My brown hair was not my best feature. It leaned toward the thinner side yet it was wavy as hell. My eyes were the only thing I really found pretty on my average self. I moved my eyes to my stomach which was concealed by the large shirt. I had just lost ten pounds and I was always too scared to look at it in the mirror. I slapped my cheeks in an attempt to add color to my lifeless looking face. Then I walked out.
"Hey sorry I took so-" I stopped when I saw him.
He had fallen asleep while I was changing. He was curled into a ball and snoring slightly. It was quite the scene to see a tall, teenage boy curled into a vulnerable position. I giggled softly. I looked at the sheets and decided that I might as well considering there was no where else to sleep. I moved his arm, which was surprisingly heavy, and tucked myself in.
My night had been pretty eventful. First Marco, than the other guy who I didn't want to remember ever again, and then watching a car accident right in front of me. It was awful. I shook off the thoughts and snuggled into the warmth.
Truly an unforgettable night.
