The setting sun washes over us with its warm and comforting rays as Yugi and I lie on our blanket next to the lakes shore. Water quietly laps at the ground and a soft and gentle breeze rustles the leaves overhead. This moment is so perfect that I can't imagine anything making it any better. Yugi lies with his head in my chest listening to my heart beat as I wrap an arm around his waist, holding him close to me.
"Do you know what this reminds me of?" I ask, gently breaking the peaceful silence. Yugi glances up at me curiously his amethyst eyes glowing in the dimming sunlight.
"What does it remind you of?"
"Our first official date," I say with a smile. "Do you remember?"
"Oh yeah, we went to the lake at Kaiba land." Yugi answers cheerfully, a bright smile glowing on his face. "That was a lot of fun. You almost drowned me if I remember correctly." He teases.
"I didn't almost drown you." I protest, "I gave you air!"
"After suddenly pulling me under the water." Yugi teases. "Don't worry about it. I'm still here. No harm done."
"Mm." Yugi chuckles at my reaction and gives me a gentle peck on the cheek.
"Don't pout love. It's unbecoming for a pharaoh."
"I can do whatever I please." I grumble.
"Do you remember when you left me in that pavilion in Egypt?" Yugi asks with a light laugh. "You did it so you could go and chase Malik and to make it up to me you lied next to me in the sand and ruined your cloak."
"I vaguely remember that." I say with a slightly confused expression. "Did I make guards keep you in there while I went off on my own."
"You did." Yugi says with a smile.
"Then yes, I definitely remember that." Yugi beams up at me and his fingers toy with the wrinkles in my loose fitting grey tee shirt. The muffled sensation of his fingers on my skin makes goosebumps form. "Do you remember the time I held Heba up above my head?"
Yugi slaps a hand over his mouth and fights to stifle the onslaught of laughter that was currently passing through his body. I smile down at him and gently slide his hand away from his mouth. His sweet laughter fills the air as his whole body trembles against me with the force of his laughter.
"She...she puked on your face." He chokes out. Small tears forming in his eyes. He can't even look at me without bursting into a fresh fit of laughter. He's so absolutely gorgeous.
"That was a rather repulsive experience." I shudder at the memory. "I was washing formula chunks out of my hair for hours."
"Stop..." He pleads as he continues to laugh.  Streams of tears traveling down the contours of his cheeks. "I can't breathe!"
"Glad you find it so amusing." I grumble, "at least one of us does."
"It makes me think of the time you were almost sick after being on the tilt a whirl at Kaiba land." Yugi teases.
"I'm from ancient Egypt and you are expecting me to able to hold down my lunch after being spun around on some strange torture device?!"
"It's a ride sweetheart not a torture device." He says with a laugh.
"I will have to disagree with you."  I shake my head as the memory of the nausea makes me feel dizzy. "I will never understand how you find those contraptions to be enjoyable."
"Never would have thought motion sickness would have been the great pharaoh Atem's one weakness." Yugi says dramatically.
"Watch yourself." I tease. A small sense of relief washes over me. It would appear that Yugi has forgotten about my other weakness. If he has that would be lovely. Yugi looks up at me curiously before smiling deviously.
"Don't you dare think you are safe Yami Atem Mutuo." Yugi says with a sly smile.
"Why wouldn't I think I'm safe?" I ask cautiously. "You plan on killing me off any time soon?"
"Depends," he answers with a smirk. "Are you hoping that I've forgotten about you being horrible ticklish?"
DAMN IT!!!
"Not at all." I lie smoothly. "I have no idea how you could have come to that conclusion."
"Really?" He raise an eyebrow at me. "Not at all?"
   "No idea whatsoever."
"Your mind link was open." Yugi says with a cheeky grin.
"Son of a..." I groan closing my eyes with aggravation as I bump the back of my head on the ground. "Such an amateur mistake! How could I be so stupid?!" Yugi's hand acts as a buffer between the back of my head and the ground and I glance down at him curiously. He smiles sweetly.
"To be fair, I was kind of prying."
   "That's not fair." I pout.
"All is fair in love and war."
"So we're at war?" I ask mischievously.
"Aren't we always?" He tilts his head to the side slightly. "In all honestly, what is traditional about our marriage? We both are completely crazy."
"Very true." I answer with a chuckle. "Which I'm happy about. Life would be so dull if you were a traditional young man who didn't want to do anything other than raise his children." Yugi flicks my forehead harshly making me blink in pain.
"Watch yourself. You make come to regret angering me."
"My apologies." I murmur with a slight laugh as I plant a gentle kiss on his forehead. "I'm glad we did this."
"So am I." Yugi whispers as he rest his head on the junction of my shoulder and neck. "It's been nice having you all to myself."
"You have no idea just how much I agree." I murmur with a smile as I nestle my face in Yugi's soft hair, allowing his sweet scent to wash over me.
