If you don't understand the title of the chapter, I recommend that you look it up, it's a French saying.

Okay so I might have been overreacting about the whole worst nightmare thing. It wasn't really that bad. Math wasn't bad, French was fun and English was terrible. When I get to my locker before lunch, I can't believe the fact that I haven't had a class with my BFF Monica yet. I really can't wait to see her at lunch. I already had a class with Audrey and she wouldn't stop talking.
"Hi," someone whispers in my ear. Speak of the she-devil.
"Hi, Audrey," I say in a bored tone.
"Guess again,"
"MONICA!" I scream as I turn around to face her.
"Bonjour" she says, before we exchange two kisses on each other's cheeks. Monica and I have spoken in French with each other ever since her parents invited me to stay with them at her mom's lavender farm in Provence, France for the whole summer in 7th grade. We had already been talking French class in school, but after visiting France we started talking French very seriously. Now Monica is fluent and I am almost fluent. She's had some extra visits to France. Both her parents are professors at Princeton, but her mother loves gardening in her spare time. Monica's mom was like the mom I never had. My mom and dad had gotten divorced when I was in the fourth grade and I had stayed with my dad, while my mom moved to Oxford to study it's history. This wasn't because she didn't love me, but because I already went to school in New Jersey and because my mom was writing a history book in her free time.
"Andy, hello. Earth to Andy!" Monica was waving her hand in front of my face.
"Oh, sorry,"
"You blanked out on me again, you ready to go to lunch?"
"Ya" I say grabbing my lunch bag out of my locker.

"What did Audrey do to her hair?" Monica asks as we walk into the lunch room. I try and find her, and see her seated at a table all the way at the back. Just the way we like it.
" What do you think? " I ask, slightly amused, expecting a witty answer.
"Hack at it with scissors and bathe it in bleach?" Totally expecting it.
"Tu non aime?[You don't like?]" I ask. Normally Monica is so laid back about stuff like this.
"Je non aime du tout.[I don't like at all.]" As we sit at the table, Monica looks Audrey right in the eye and bluntly asks "What's with the hair?".
"Hello to you too," Audrey's replies coldly. I wince. Monica and Audrey had never been close, but this was knife cutting tension.
"So how was your summer, guys?" I say, trying to break the silence.
"Good," they both reply in sync, before turning and picking at their food. So much for that. Quick, topic change, topic change. I really didn't want a cat fight to start and, by the way Audrey and Monica were glaring at each other, one was going to start real soon. "Have any of you seen Nick yet?" Nick Baltin was my other best friend. We had been close ever since he moved to New Jersey from London in the 4th grade. I might have a secret little crush on him.
"You mean your lover boy?" Monica asked teasingly, nudging my side with her elbow. Okay, so maybe my secret crush wasn't so secret.
"Ya, he was in my math class" Monica continues.
"He talked about you" She said
"Really? What did he say?" Now I was getting nervous.
"He said that he wants to run away with you to some far away island" Monica joked, making kissy noises like a 5 year old. I kicked her leg before she could say anything else, because guess who just walked up to our table.

***********
Cliffhanger! I'm sorry I had to. I promise I will work on updating soon.
Question Time!

2. Do you think Nick has a crush on Andy?

3. Any predictions?

4. Other comments?

Thank you!
