Did she know? Is this why she made that comment earlier? What? How? Why?
"Shut up Andy," I mumbled. It's not a big deal, right?
"Monica probably didn't know that I liked Nick."
"What?" Audrey says as she sits down next to me.
"Oh, nothing," I assure her "I'm just talking to myself."
"Did you find anything interesting?" She points at her phone in my hand.
"Who is that? She looks closer at the picture and then gasps dramatically, covering her mouth with her hand. Too dramatically. She knew, there was no doubt in my head. Why did she show it to me then? Was she trying to hurt me? Maybe I need to watch her more closely.
"I'm so sorry, I had no clue." I admit she sounded genuine.
"I'll be right back," she said standing up and walking hurriedly out of her room. After a couple minutes she came back with a movie, a double pint of mint chocolate chip, and a cup of black coffee. Awww, she remembered that black coffee is my favorite. Well some prefer "cookie chocolate- whatever" frappuccinos, I prefer straight, rich, black coffee. I snuck a peak at the movie before she popped it into the DVD player. Pitch Perfect. Yes! I loved that movie. I wasn't feeling heartbroken, but I'm glad that she was looking out for me. Maybe I need to watch her more closely, I thought, looking down at the phone still in my hand. I looked at the lip-locking couple, composed of my best friend, and the guy I had a crush on. Maybe I need to watch her more closely.***************
Please don't hate me. 😶
