preference 3-what you do on valentine's day

Stefan: He woke you up with heart shaped pancakes and it just got more cheesy from there. He had bought you a huge box of chocolates and two dozen roses, and to cap the day off, he brought you to have a candlelit dinner picnic at your favorite park. You had insisted you didn't want any gifts or anything for Valentine's Day, but Stefan totally ignored you.

Damon: You and Damon spent Valentine's Day at home, drinking bourbon and watching action movies. Damon wasn't much for grand romantic gestures, but he felt like he owed you a nice Valentine's Day. He bought you a teddy bear with vampire fangs sewed on to it, which you thought was hilarious.

Klaus: Klaus was surprisingly romantic. He let you sleep in till noon, and you woke up alone in bed. Next to you was a note instructing you to put on a nice dress and go outside. You found Klaus with roses standing in front of his car, beaming up at you.

"Hello, love. You look gorgeous." He told you, before taking you to a cute lunch. You ended the day falling asleep on the couch watching Friends reruns.

Elijah: He went all out, of course. Two dozen roses, a teddy bear the size of you, and expensive Lindor truffles. You two went out to a fancy Italian restaurant and reenacted the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp. He ended the night by asking you to marry him. You said yes, of course.

Kol: You and Kol weren't exactly romantic. You ordered pizza and watched The 100 on Netflix. When you got bored you made it your mission to annoy and hijack everyone on romantic dates. You made a substantial effort to annoy Stefan and Damon in particular.

Jeremy: He was cute, but inexperienced. You didn't live with him seeing as the two of you were still in high school, and you screamed when you woke up to Jeremy standing over you with a teddy bear.

"Hi babe....you okay?" 

You hit him over the head with a pillow, but you forgave him and let him take you out for coffee.

Enzo: Another not-so-romantic type, Enzo at least tried. He got you a nice pair of earrings and let you choose where to eat dinner that night. At the end of the night, he offered you a sheepish smile and a hug.

"I know I'm bad at this whole 'typical couple' thing, (Y/N), but I love you."

And that was all you needed, really.

Elena: She went all out. She decorated your room with heart balloons and streamers, but she was so proud of her work she just stood there staring at it and forgot to sneak out before you woke up.

"Elena! What are you doing?"

"Oh, um," she blushed at you, "Happy Valentine's Day! Look, I have balloons and everything!"

You stayed home and marathoned Harry Potter while eating brownies and cuddling.

Caroline: She woke up insanely early to bake you a heart-shaped cake.

When you came downstairs Valentine's Day morning, you found a perfectly-made (of course) heart cake that had (Y/N) + Caroline written on it in frosting.

When you walked into the kitchen, you found Caroline trying desperately to clean dishes, not noticing the flour sprinkled in her hair.

"Caroline, babe, I love you but you can chill a little." You laughed.

Bonnie: She did romantic magic-y things! She enchanted roses to float all around your house, and stood behind you with her arms around your waist and grinned ear-to-ear while you stared in wonderment.

Later, you two cooked an amazing meal together, no magic required.

Katherine: Katherine isn't good at expressing her emotions a lot of the time. She loved you, but she just didn't always know how to say it. Which was why you weren't expecting anything for Valentine's Day. 

Katherine woke you up by kissing you on the neck and murmuring "Happy Valentine's Day," but then promptly fell asleep again. You laughed at her and got out of bed. 

You didn't do anything lovey-dovey either, but you did make her heart-shaped pancakes. She thought it was cute.

Rebekah: Bekah was a Mikaelson, so of course she was into grand gestures. She painted a forty foot banner to read HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY and she bought you an expensive dress she thought you'd look great in.

She made you smile the entire day with romantic surprises, and when you confided that you felt bad for not getting her anything, she told you "You're the only gift I would ever need."
