It's hundreds of years ago, two warriors meet as they travel, and find that they are from opposite sides of a war. They fight, but are too well matched for one to win. As they remove their helmets the warrior in black finds that the warrior in red whom he'd been fighting is a woman. He is honored to meet one of the infamous Shi warriors.
They talk civilly for a while, each discussing their own lives, and staying away from the politics of things. After only a few minutes they decide they are in love and plan to marry. They kiss and the man whispers, "My name is Flint." before they continue traveling, this time to a completely different location where they can be happy and not worry about the war.
Now it's present day. At a restaurant. A young girl steps from the bar area to the dining area and goes to get a refill, before returning to the bar. One of the waitresses watches her and is very confused. She follows her to the arch where the bar begins and watches her to see where she goes.
The girl ends up near a bunch of goodlooking business men. One in particular catches her eye. He looks a bit like Nicholas Cage, but seems to be far happier than any pictures she'd seen of Cage. And more good looking.
The Cage man puts his arm around the little girls waist and gives her a kiss on the forehead. Then he looks up and sees the waitress, he waves.
She walks over and asks him if he needs anything, trying to hide the fact that she had been watching them.
She becomes friends with the Cage man, later finding out his name is Derric, and the girl is his daughter. She feels a strange attraction for him, and doesn't understand it. He has the same attraction and doesn't understand either.
Derric gets a girlfriend, and the waitress hides her attraction as best she can so he can be happy.
One day while both the waitress and his girlfriend are over at his house having lunch, Derric asks to talk to the waitress for a second.
The waitress has felt awkward the entire time, feeling like a third wheel, and so follows him out to the patio a little worriedly. He starts talking to her, and while he does he plays with her hair. He doesn't seem to realize he's doing it until she stops paying attention to him and focuses on his hand that's twirling a lock of her hair around his fingers.
He looks down and at his hand and apologizes, pulling it away. What he doesn't realize is at the same time he pulled one hand away, the other arm wrapped around her waist and brought her closer. Without thinking she put her hand on his cheek and kissed him.
They kiss for a while before they can pull away. They both stare at each other, completely confused. Neither knows that they are the reincarnations of the warriors from hundreds of years before.
Derric tries to kiss the waitress again, but she pushes him away and points at the kitchen, where Derric's girlfriend is still eating, completely oblivious.
The waitress is distraught at having kissed him. She never believed she was capable of making a man a cheater.
She leaves immediately and goes home. Derric goes back to the kitchen.
This dream has no ending. I'll never know what would have happened.
