We waited forever for the baby to come - the pizza. And when it finally arrived I couldn't wait any longer. I grabbed the biggest slice and shoved it in my mouth; not caring that Ruffles and Warner were staring at me. After I finished the first slice I did the same with another. I probably had tomato sauce and grease all over my face.
And when I glanced up from gazing at the beautiful thing sitting in front of me, I notice the wide eyed gaze of Warner.
"What?" I ask.
"Don't pay any attention to her when she's eating pizza, Warner. She's like a mad women who's lost one of her cats- she goes crazy."
"Uh-huh," he says shaking his head slowly.
"Anyway... would it be okay for me to ask you why y'all are trying to skip school?"
"Umm...," both Ruffles and I say at the same time.
"It's okay if you don't want to tell me, but I was just asking 'cause I wanted to help. "
"Help?" I say.
"Yeah... You're both terrible at sneaking out of school, so I was thinking that maybe I could help you."

We were told to meet Warner at the same janitors closet. But instead of going inside of it we're supposed to wait outside.
We wait for about 15 minutes before a teacher comes by. Ruffles jumps behind me, blocking herself with my body, like always. I push her out of the way, because I'm not the only one who's going down for skipping classes. And, plus, I'm pretty sure the teacher could see her.
"What are you two doing out of class?"
I rush to think of something. "We help the janitor clean the school on every 3rd day past a weekend. It's part of this new program."
The teacher has the strangest look on her face.
I look over at Ruffles hoping she can back me up. "Yes. It's called Help A Janitor."
"Okay...," the teacher says, "I guess I'll leave you to it..." and walks away.
I automatically turn to Ruffles. "Really? You couldn't come up with anything better than 'Help A Janitor'?"
"That's what you get for putting me on the spot!"
"What's going on here ladies?"
We both turn around from facing each other, with scowls on our faces, and say "You're late!"
"Yes, yes I know, and I'm sorry. Mr Barrow wouldn't let me go to the bathroom, so I had to pretend... oh never mind."
"Okay. So, how are we getting out of here," I glance down at my phone, "It's 12:25. We've got five minutes before the class ends and they switch classes."
Warner is staring at me, again. "What?"
"Why do you know that?"
"I like being on time?"
"Huh," Warner says before he starts to take off running in the opposite direction.
I start to follow behind him. My feet begin to run, before the top half of my body moves. And my feet slip out from underneath my body, causing me to fall straight on my butt.
"Pizza," Ruffles yells, "Are you alright?" She comes rushing over, while laughing.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just probably gonna have a bruise on my ass for a week."
I pull my phone of my pocket to check the time: 11:28
"Oh crap!" I exclaim. "We gotta go!"
I jump up and start running towards the area Warner went to, hoping to beat the bell, and hoping I don't fall again.
