Mitch's POV

I woke up, my head buzzing.
Scott was sitting next to me and I saw his face was covered by his hood.
"Scott?" I called. Scott flinched.

"Honey." He said quietly. He didn't turn to face me.

"Scott why is my body wet?" I asked. He let out a breath.

"You don't remember?"

I raised an eyebrow. "I guess?"

Then I felt something wrong. I sat up and scooted over to him quickly. "Scott." I called. "Scott."

He turned away and I grabbed his shoulder. "Please look at me."
I heard his breath quicken. I turned him around gently and took off his hood.
I gasped. "Scott."

His eyes were red and puffy. Tears were still in his eyes and I instantly hugged him.
"Oh sweetie." I cried out. "What's wrong?"
He opened his mouth to answer, but the DEAD screen came up.

I gasped. "Alex....! He died? How?"

Scott's tears filled his eyes again. "Mitchie..."

I leaned in to hug him, but stopped when he said; "He loved me, Mitchie."

"What?" I asked.

"He loved me all this time and I never knew." He looked at me. "I'm guessing you knew."

"Scott I-"

"It's okay Mitch. It's too late now anyway."

"How did he did he die, Scott? Tell me."

And he did. Every detail.

My head went blank. He told me it wasn't my fault, but the tears didn't stop from falling. He died to save me. He died to save his crush's boyfriend's life.
While I ignored his feelings, he died to save me.
I fell to the ground and Scott held me. I cried into his chest and he cried into my shoulder. We cried and cried until no tears were left to fall.

"I'm so sorry." I whispered. "To both of you."

Scott stroked my hair. "I'm the one who should be sorry." He said quietly.

"Mitchie I had no idea you were going through so much. And I thought you were cheating on me with him." He laughed silently.
"I love you Scott." I said and Scott kissed me. Right on the lips.
I didn't pull away. A single tear dropped and hit the ground.

A few minutes later, we cuddled up. It was getting cold, but Scott's warmth was comforting and assuring. I sighed and leaned back.

"So we didn't transfer."

He nodded.  "I think this is the last stage. The games end here, I guess."

I smiled. My mouth hurt.

"Where are the others?" I asked.

"We separated. Except for Kirstie and Jeremy who just went for a walk."

"So we have to kill the others. Great."

Scott kissed my neck. "Let's think of that later. I love you Mitch."

"Thank you." I whispered. Scott frowned. "What for?"

"For loving me."

Scott laughed. "I never knew something so obvious is worth thanking."

We snuggled closer and in was silent.
Scott broke it by calling my name.
"Yes Scott?"

"Sing for me."

I blushed. "I'm not that good at it.."

Scott snorted. "You do know I was your brother before, right?"

I laughed, flicking his hair. "And you do know you just said that on live national television, right? People will think we're weird."

"Well guess what?" he leaned over my ear.
"I don't care. Sing for me."

I cleared my throat and started to sing.

A light in the room
It was you who was standing there
Tried it was true
As your glance met my stare

But your heart drifted off
Like the land split by sea
I tried to go, to follow
To kneel down at your feet

I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you
I'll run, I'll run, I'll run, run to you

Scott kissed me. "That was amazing sweetheart." he whispered.
I looked over at him. "Sing along."

He blushed. "Not that song. I'm not good enough."

I rolled my eyes. "Tell that to our bathroom mirror." But I started a rhythm and soon, Scott sang along.

You, you light up in the dark
You're the glowing and priceless work of art
I see, I see your shining star
You're the light through my window from afar

And don't you forget
The only thing that matters is your heartbeat going strong
Oh, don't you forget
That nothing else can matter cause you know where I belong

Oh, take me there
Won't you take me there
Won't you take me home
Oh, take me there
Won't you take me there
Won't you take me home
