The next day was November 10! It was finally here. The wedding was at 4:30pm so everyone got up and got everything ready to go at 1:30.
They then drove to the Hamptons and made it their by 2:15. The Maid-Of-Honor, Alexis, was the first to get ready. Lanie straightened Alexis' hair while Jenny did her make-up, and Kate got her dress and sandals ready. After that Alexis changed.
While Alexis was changing Kate and Martha started doing Lanie and Jenny's hair which was going to be curled. Alexis came out as they were finishing Lanie and Jenny's make-up and then the bridesmaids changed. When Jenny came out she got Sarah-Grace ready.
Now it was Kate's turn. Alexis put Kate's hair in a fancy bun on the top of her head with a little tiara that was Kate's mothers. Lanie then did her make-up and finally she got dressed.
By the time all of this was done it was 4:00.
Javi and Kevin came to see their little sister. After hugging her they put Kate's back against 1 side of the bedroom door and put Rick's back on the other side. The two had joined hands and said a silent prayer.
Now it was 4:28, only 2 more minutes! Everybody was getting into their spots in line when they heard 'Hear Comes the Bride'. Everybody walked down the aisle and then Kate rounded the corner. When Rick saw her his breath caught in his throat. Suddenly it felt so difficult to breath.
When Kate and Jim finally made it to the end of the aisle he kissed his daughter's cheek, put her hand in Rick's and then the preacher asked, "Who gives this woman to this man?" "My late wife, Johanna, and I do sir." "Okay."
Jim then sat down and Rick pulled Kate up to the altar. "We are gathered here today to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony, anyone who thinks Katherine and Richard should not marry, speak now or forever hold your peace." There was dead silence, then the preacher looked towards Kate, "7 years ago I never thought about this day. But, now standing here in front of you, in front of our friends and family, makes me feel like the happiest person in the world. I love you, Rick and I cannot wait to start my life with you." She then put the ring they had picked out a few days before on his finger. Then it was Rick's turn, "After 2 failed marriages I thought I would never find happiness and then I met you. Kate, you are my happiness, when I look at you I see this amazing, wounded woman who I love with all of my heart. I have always loved you Kate, Always." Rick put Kate's ring on her finger. There was not a dry-eye. "Katherine, do you take Richard as your husband?" "I do." "Richard, do you take Katherine as your wife?" "I do." "Well, by the power vested in me by the state of New York I now pronounce you husband and wife. Richard, you may kiss your bride." Rick then kissed Kate. She quickly wrapped her arms around his neck, and when they broke for air they rested their foreheads together. They were pulled out of their own little world by hollers and then they walked back down the aisle.
They got their pictures taken and then went and sat at the table that had the card that said 'Mr. and Mrs. Castle'.
When it was time for the speeches the wedding party and family went first, Alexis went first: "When Dad first started shadowing Kate I was a little nervous, but then I met her and I knew she was different from my own mother or Gina or any other my dad has been with. I'm very happy that my dad found the one. And Kate, thank you, it feels really good to call the right person mom. I love you both."
Lanie: "It's about time! No, no, but in all seriousness I am very happy for you guys. Rick keep taking care of my girl."
Jenny: "I haven't known these two as long as everybody else probably has, but I knew they were going to make a perfect couple!"
Esposito and Ryan: "We are doing this together because we have one message and that is, Rick, you hurt Kate and we will have ourselves a new punching bag."
Martha: "Now I know we all know about Richard and Katherine's up's and down's and how long it took them to get here, but in life everything happens for a reason, so they might not have gotten married as soon as we hoped they would, but they did get married! Oh, bye the way, I would love more grandchildren!"
Jim: "Well Jo, we did it! Katie, I know how much you wanted your mother to be here, but just know that this is everything your mother and I ever wanted for you! I love you baby girl."
Everybody started to cry, Kate got up and hugged her father, she couldn't stop the tears from falling.
When everyone was done with speeches it was time to eat! The couple had chicken on a stick, pancite, soup or salad, mashed potatoes, and drinks.
When all of the guests were done eating they all went to a dance area that was set up. "Alright ladies and gentlemen, it is an honor for me to introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Richard Castle!" Jim said. Rick and Kate walked out and went over to the dance floor. As the beat to Carrie Underwood's 'Heartbeat' started playing, Rick and Kate started dancing. When the song was over Jim came and danced with his daughter to Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus' 'Get Ready, Get Set, Don't Go.' Finally after that dance it was time to cut the cake. It was a beautiful cake; it was 3 layers of chocolate with white icing and lavender purple and ocean blue, small, seashells. After everybody had cake, songs started to play and everyone started to dance.
Rick and Kate sat dow as 'Our Song' by Taylor Swift started to play. Everyone was having a blast. "It's perfect." Kate said and all Rick did was kiss her, but in that kiss Kate felt all of his emotions.
