The first three days are awful, the sting seems to get worse. Though, today it  is barely noticeable. Luke made sure to plan very interesting adventures, but today isn't a fun one. Luke is in the shower, and I'm slowly getting ready to head to the lawyers  office. Luke is nervous, but I can only tell because he takes a short shower, with no singing. I know this, because I'm the same way.

"Luke, what should I wear?" I ask stepping into the bathroom. He has a towel wrapped around his hips.

"Um, I guess something formal. If you have a skirt that's not going to irritate your leg, go with that." I nod walking back into our bedroom. I grab a dark maroon skirt, and a navy blue blouse with  lace straps. I show him and he approves and continues getting ready.

The trip downtown is painfully silent. It almost feels like the night he picked me up from the party, but I was too busy internally freaking out to think too much of it.

"Will this affect us?" Luke asks me.

"Hasn't already?"

"Are you going to leave me, if this is my child?"

"No, Luke, I'm not going to leave you." I tell him. "Though, I'm not exactly thrilled with the possibility."

"I understand."

After twenty more minutes of painful silence, Luke pulls the car into a crowded parking lot. He stops the car and we get out. Luke laces his fingers with mine and I walk closely beside him.

The building is standard, a reception desk at the end of the room with several secretaries working away. We bypass them and go down a long hall on the right of the reception desks. Luke's grip on my hand is unusually tight, it must be nerves. When we walk through a door were greeted by a few faces.

"Hello, please take a seat and we'll get started." A rather talk blonde woman dressed in a suit speaks.

Luke gives me a reassuring smile and we sit down across from Adrian. A few seats down I see Michael with a man, who I assume is his lawyer. Luke didn't bring his. That's a bit strange considering the situation.

"I," Adrian's lawyer speaks, "have the results of both DNA tests. Why you three waited so long before getting these done is beyond me, but now this will all be settled." She passes a folder to Luke and then one to Michael's lawyer and he hands it over to him.

"Do we all understand the terms of these results?" Michael's lawyer asks.

Luke nods as well as Adrian. I lean in and ask Luke quietly what he means by this.

"Child support, custody matters, and so on." Luke whispers to me and I nod.

"Can they open them already? I have to pick Grace up from the sitter soon." Adrian huffs, she doesn't seem to pleasant.

"Go ahead." The blonde lawyer answers.

I watch as Michael tears into his folder, flipping through several papers. The grin on his face is bright with relief. "No match." He tells her proudly. Shit.

I look to Luke, and he's smiling. I let a slow breath out when he begins to speak. "Poor, poor Adrian. It seems you'll be seeing me in court soon. No match." He looks to me and kisses me and I melt into it.
