Noah🔫😊: We will be picking you up in 10... Then Alexa. Jackson and I already picked up Kenna and Gabby.
Me: ok. I'm just about ready. See ya soon.

I pull on a pair of white high-waisted shorts and a loose, Forest green, racer-back muscle tee. I tuck the edges in and have their rest hanging. I pull my hair in a tight high ponytail, leaving my curly hair hanging down to my shoulder blades. I check the mirror on my wall one more time to check my lipgloss ... perfection.
I tie my pure white converse and leave my room, closing the door behind me. I check my purse, which has my phone, wallet, extra chapstick and lipgloss, back up female necessities, ibuprofen, Benadryl, pen, pencil, sticky notes, loose receipts, loose cash, and unused tissues. I am too much like my mother. I throw away the receipts and put the cash in my wallet. While my wallet is out I check to make sure I have my state ID, which I do.

I hear a knock on my front door, expecting it to be Noah, I shout goodbyes to my parents, but instead it's Darren.
"Hey Kat. Wanna talk really quick, cause I do?" I, at this point, am so thankful for the iron storm door. "No thanks. I'm heading out as soon as my ride gets hear. I really don't think it would be a good idea to be hear when that happens," I state entirely serious. If I know my cousin, there won't be much of Darren left to bother me when he's done.
Just then I see Ms. Morrison's massive Suburban roll into my driveway. "Why would that be? Hu daddy's girl?" Darren says snapping my attention back to him. "Um...They would," I said pointing to the two furious teenaged boys storming up the walkway.
"Darren, I suggest you leave Kat alone. She doesn't like you man. Get over it. Alexa hangs all over you half the time anyway," Jackson states while Noah moves between the door and Darren. "This is none of your business anyway. And Alexa likes Noah, idiot. She just hangs on me to try and make him jealous. It obviously doesn't work because he obviously is all over Kitty like white on rice." "Will you just fuck off?! I'm seriously getting tired of your shit!" Noah snaps. Darren smirks and finally walks off. Okay what the hell?
"KitKat, get in the car. I need to talk to Noah for a minute," Jackson states, staring down Noah, who looks pissed. "Okay....just hurry up with your weird bromance stare down. We have a movie to see," as I exit my home and lock the doors behind me.

I get in the car and see Hazel, "Noah didn't tell me you going with us." "Oh I'm not. I have other plans. I just need a ride," she replied as I get in and sit all the way in the back with Gabby and Kenna. "What the hell is Darren doing here?" Kenna whispers as her and Gabby shuffle so I can sit on the far left. "He just came here and asked to talk. Before you ask, no he didn't get into the house and no he didn't get past asking to talk. Noah and Jackson got there first." "That is just weird," Gabby says as Noah opens the door and climb in to the row of seats in front of us. "Kitty, you good? If you don't want to go, that is completely fine." "Naw, I good. Just a little weirded out."
"Why wouldn't she want to go? What happened Katerina?" Ms. Morrison asked turning in her seat to look at Noah then me. "Nothing super important. Just some classroom drama that followed me home. Don't worry I'm all good." "Okay what movie are you all going to see?" "Either The 5th Wave or The Boy. We haven't picked yet. They both start at 11:50," Jackson says as Ms. Morrison pulls into traffic. "Good you kids have some time to get there. Who are we picking up now? Alexa, right?" I groan unintentionally. "More classroom drama?" "Bingo." "Care to explain?" "No thank you," I say staring at the ceiling of the car. "Well whatever it is, drop the attitude because we're here. Jackson, sweetie go get her please." Ms. Morrison says as we pull up to the front of her house. Did I mention she lives on my street?

Jackson gives a short nod and then whispers something threatening to Noah before getting out and heading to the door. "What is with you and Jackson today? I swear you two are acting so weird." Noah runs a hand over his face, "It's nothing." "You sure?" I ask as lean my arms on the seat in front of me so my head is next to his. "Positive Kitty." Part of me really just wants to play in his messy hair.
Just then the door opens again and Jackson hops in next to Noah and Alexa follows. I lean back into my seat and grab my phone.
"Why is she here? I knew her friends would be, but her too?" Alexa says whining. "Noah invited her on Friday," Gabby says. Instigation at its finest folks. "It was probably out of pity."
"No I invited her because I wanted to. Can we drop the drama for the rest of the day?" Noah steps in. I answer not looking up from my phone, "I didn't even start any, but okay." "She speaks!" Alexa says with a lot of fake surprise. "Didn't he just ask us not to do this? Personally, my day has been pretty good and I would like to keep it that way. So if you could not, that would be amazing." I say staring her dead in the eye, daring her to keep going. She doesn't; she just lets out a little mumble and sits back so I do too.
