Having a crush on a close friend can be a cruel thing. When the crush is coming for both ends, it is ten times worse.
That is Katerina Thomas and Noah Morrison's struggle.
The emotional connection is there, and so is the physical attraction, but is...
(A/N: group pic above) May 23. Springfield Trip Day 1
I walked into the gym entrance at 5:28am in a loose, pink tank top and dark shorts with my jacket tied around my waist. I am greeted by a mass of sixty thirteen and fourteen year-olds. I quickly look for Mr. Kacy's home room group, my home room. I find Mr. Kacy and the rest of my class standing near the door where the coach buses will be picking us up. "Mr. Kacy, Kat's here!" Jackson yells. "Thank you Jackson. Katerina I need you over here to check in your bags." I grab my duffle bag that contains my clothes for the next three days, Ruffin (picture below), pajamas, and my hair and body necessities and walk over to him.

Once I get my bags checked in, including my comic book themed purse, I go sit down on the floor with the mass of people waiting also. "Hey Kitty," Noah says looking up from the floor on which he is sprawled out. I sit down next to him with Kenna on my other side fast asleep on top of Gabby who is now asleep on Jackson's shoulder, who's now passed out himself. "How long before the bus comes again?" I ask grabbing my phone so I can set an alarm. I'm going back to sleep. "6:15, Why?" Noah says sitting up and leaning back on the wall. "Alarm. I'm getting some more sleep," I lean up on the wall next to him, crossing my legs Indian style. "Kitty, do you know if there is going to be a seating arrangement on the bus?" Noah asks out of the blue, head leaned back, eyes closed. I pull my knees to my chest and fold my arms over them, "I think so. You know how crazy it gets when we go on field trips. Everybody is up and down, changing seats, yelling..." I trail off. He nods slightly.
From there I decide to close my eyes and sleep. I am woken up by Noah's voice, "Kitty, come on wake up the buses are hear." Oh dear Jesus. If he doesn't stop with that deep, raspy, sleepy voice of his right now.... "No," I say. I'm quite tired. Usually I get at least six yourself of sleep; last night I only got three. "Do you want us to carry you?" Jackson asks. I nod, still not opening my eyes. Jackson picks me up and I wrap my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. He doesn't really even hove to hold me because I, in his words, am 'a freaking monkey', but he is holding me with his hands under my thighs. I rest my head on his shoulder, but something is off. I don't smell his usual cologne. I open my eyes and blink a few times to see Jackson caring my purse behind Noah, who's caring me out of the gym, "Noah, put me down!" Noah laughs, moving his arms around my waist as my legs drop so I don't fall straight down. He slowly lets me drop, "What's wrong Kitty?" "I thought Jackson said he was going to carry me, not you," I snap as Jackson hands my my purse. "Chill. How did you even notice? You were barely awake." Noah questions, still laughing. "I know the cologne Jackson and my dad use." "Why were you smelling me?" "I wasn't. I took a deep through my nose. I want trying to smell anything," I say as I walk up to the line of my classmates.
"Katerina, you are on the girls side in one of the four seats with the rest of your roommates for the trip. Either seats W1, X1, Y1, or Z1. Jackson and Noah, you're on the boys side same seats," Mr. Kacy state while marking us on the attendance sheet. My group consist of Kenna, Gabby, Hannah, and me. Jackson's is him, Noah, Greg, and Darren. We picked these groups in March. I walk to the back to see Hanna and Gabby in Y1 and Z1, the back row. Kenna is in X1, leaving me the aisle seat W1. Across from us I see Darren in Y2 and Jackson in Z2, leaving him in the aisle. Greg was in X2, putting Noah next to me in W2.
