Damon's POV
I've never been so mad at someone in my life where i want to put myself in a position I shouldn't be in. What Elena told me on our trip still hasn't left my mind. How someone could do something like that to her. If that guy ever even steps near her I will beat him myself. They shouldn't even let the bastard out. He killed a baby. He beat a woman. He took something from Elena she can never get back. He disrespected her. He tore her life apart and she was so young.
I punch the door just as Stefan walks into my room. I turn to face him and he stares at me.
"What's got you in a bad mood?" He walks over to my desk and sits down in the chair.
"Elena told me what happened to her. And I swear to god if I ever see that guy I will beat him." I turn my head so I don't have to face him anymore.
"As much as the guy deserves to be beat and probably even worse, you shouldn't do that. That wouldn't make anything better for Elena. And besides I already given him a little beating when I showed up at the apartment with the cops. They pulled me off of him before I could make things worse, and they also didn't press charges against me. But I'm just as mad as you are Damon. He hurt Elena so bad." Stefan says.
"When does the guy get out? You were at the hearing with Elena, you know don't you?" I ask him.
"He gets out sometime this year. But he has no idea where Elena lives now." Stefan tells me.
"But it's not like he can find out." I remind him. Elena still has friends in Mystic Falls.
"Then we need to get a restraining order against him for her." He says and I nod my head in agreement.
"I want to protect her. I promised her I would. And I'm going to." I walk to my desk, pushing Stefan in the chair out of the way and grab my laptop.
"What are you doing?" Stefan asks.
"I'm looking up more things about keeping that guy away from her. Far away from her. I don't even want him stepping foot in New York. Elena is finally happy here and I don't want him screwing that up for her." I sit down on my bed with the laptop and start my search.
Elena's POV
Mom brings me a bowl of ice cream and sits it down on the table in front of me. I grab my spoon and dig in.
"Sissy you're going to get a brain freeze eating big spoonfuls like that." Maddie says. I smile at her but keep eating anyway.
"So Damon took everything alright?" Mom asks. I told her about me telling Damon what happened to me. And he did take everything well. But he's just as pissed and upset about it too.
"Yes. He been nothing but supportive to me." I say. Mom nods and smiles. She really likes Damon. And I'm glad she does.
"I'm happy for you Elena. I'm glad you found Damon. I can't wait to see him around more." Mom says and now I smile at her.
"Oh you will." I wink.
Maddie takes her bowl to the sink and sits it inside.
"Can we go to your apartment now? I'm ready." Maddie says. She's spending the weekend with me, mom and dad are going to New Jersey for one of dads conferences and I offered to keep her.
"Yeah, let's go grab your bags and we will head out." I take my bowl to the sink and follow Maddie to her room. She grabs her bag and her rapunzel doll and I grab her pillow.
"Is that everything?" I check with her.
"Yes, I got stuff to play with and all my clothes." She smiles.
