Chapter 2
I felt the stinging on my palm as pretty-boy and I stared longer into each other's eyes. The blow on his cheek, threw him off and his grey-blue eyes began to darken every second. In anger, most likely. But I didn't back down or cower, I'm not that kind of girl. Especially to guys who assaulted me. Seriously! Kissing me without my permission?
His Grey-blue and my red-brown eyes mixed together, stirring slowly while creating smoke and tension around us.
It was the sound of shuffling feet that forced us to look away.
He had an akward but smug smile before he pulled me into a tight hug, catching me by surprise.
"Edan?" A girly and sweet voice echoed somewhere down the hall way. I angrily pushed him away from me and raised my head to see a very beautiful girl walking towards us, her dark curly hair tied up in a high ponytail and the curious look on her face made me frown. I know her, I thought to myself. She's friends with Zoe Ashworth.
"Where have you been? I've been searching for you all over!" She said, holding the boy's hand in hers. Before I could complain to her on how he molested me, the boy slung an arm over her shoulders.
"Sorry, babe." He quickly kissed her cheek to distract her away from me, "I was asking for directions." He smiled and I watched in shock as they brushed past me and proceeded to the cafeteria. I didn't miss the way they looked at each other or chuckle at each other's comments.
I stood frozen at the same spot, staring in utter shock and confusion.
Of course, dummy. With good looks like that, he would obviously have a girlfriend. An attractive, smart and sociable girlfriend. Why in the world should I care?
I continuosly slapped my forehead, groaning aloud. What do I do?
Leaning against the cool metal of one of the lockers, I sighed grabbing onto my pendant. What if he's one of the them? The Emmersons? I closed my eyes and silently spoke to my non-existant parents.
I thought they heard me. I felt a slight breeze on my cheek, and I opened my eyes and glanced down the hallway to find that same boy staring back at me over his girlfriend's shoulder. I shuddered as he smiled, yet there was a hint of curiousity and longing that seemed like he was saying 'We'll talk later.'
I hoped not.

I am so dead.
My eyes widened as I spotted Lea marching towards me with her nose flared. Uh oh.
She stomped her foot angrily in front of me. "Where have you been, you asshóle?" She huffed out, making me gulp. "You just disapeared - poof! And you decided to reappear at the end of the day." She expressively threw her arms around.
"I'm sorry. I knew I shouldn't have left you. I'll explain over dinner tonight, okay?" I patted her shoulder before I grabbed the necessary books from my locker and shut it closed. We began to walk down the crowded hallways of Springside High school. I sighed, tilting my head from side to side, cracking my neck in the process. What a day it had been.
"Fine," I heard Lea grumbled beside me. "I want every, single, detail." She said.
I nodded absently, as I relished the feeling of the breezy spring air as we stepped out of the building. I clutched my books to my chest, feeling the sudden urge of running around restlessly. It's been years since I had been going long distances. My mood sunk when I thought about shifting to my wolf. I've never talked or shifted into her for years, my wolf. It's not a very nice feeling.
We were walking across the lawn towards the carpark, after Lea offered to drive me home in her car. Maybe it was not really an offer, since she usually drove me home every day after school.
Her familiar jet black vehicle was situated on one of the furthest parking lots, thanks to me for dragging us late for school. Therefore walking across made it more bothersome, especially when I spotted the school's famous clique scattered on the lawn. What was worse, was the sight of the boy - whom I heard his name was Edan, with his girlfriend as they were sprawled across the grass, with Craig Maurer and Zoe Ashworth.I glanced sideways at Lea and as usual, her eyes were set on Craig. I shook my head amusingly as I noticed her blushing as their eyes met. I guess their talk went well? She didn't need me in there the first place, she handled it perfectly well.
We finally slipped into the car as we chatted about random things that normal friends talked about. Like we would mention things about our lessons or do our usual ranting about the teachers or the other teenagers.
I stared at my reflection on the car's side mirror, fixing up my auburn brown hair into a messy bun. I lazily glanced at the field behind, and I blinked in surprise as I became aware of Edan making eye-contact with me, his face had an expression that was filled with grim. That made me feel a little wary and I looked away.
The car reversed out of the parking lot and Lea drove out of the school gates, leaving me breathless as I felt myself release a large weight off my chest.
"You okay?" Lea's slightly concerned voice drawed me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah," I replied breathlessly. I was totally not lying.
We arrived at my rented house that was a five minute drive away from school. I spotted Misses Horton on the front lawn, watering her well-grown flower bed. I stepped out of Lea's car after we greeted our goodbyes and reminded that we meet for dinner later at six.
"Good afternoon Misses Horton!" I waved to the gleeful old lady. She placed the watering can down and waved back, grinning.
I jogged up the stairs that led to my bedroom, dragging my bag along. I bellyflopped onto the soft matress of my bed, enjoying the comfort and warmth my good ol'friend provides.
Straightening up after a few minutes, I quickly got started on the day's homework before I could prepare to meet up with Lea.
Would you call this good distraction or what?
