Life is so boring at Mikey's house. It has been two days since I arrived and I am still yet to find something interesting to do. After Alicia's blow up on the first day we have all been walking on eggshells, unaware of what's really going on in one another's minds.
"Heather, pass the orange juice?" Mikey's voice is raspy and it cracks, unused lately, because of the awkward stillness between everyone.
'That's it.' I think, 'I gave you two full days, my patience is wearing thin. Now I am stepping in.'
"Really Mikey? Is this how you typically resolve fights? Talk to her, for goodness sakes! You get to see her for a month and then your gone again. Make the freakin' most of it!"
I shriek, but it turns out more like a squeak because I have not been saying much, either.
I jump up to leave them alone, running out of the room. As I pause just outside the doorway, I hear talking. Satisfied, I slowly make my way up to the hallway where the guest room is.
"Bored, bored, bored." I find myself muttering whilst standing there awkwardly, still in the hallway, quite unaware of what to do.
My gaze wanders to Mikey and Alicia's room. I am sure that if I were to look at a mirror at this moment my face would have a creepy grin plastered on it.
As my hand touches the cold metal of the doorknob I pray that it is open. Turning the knob slowly, as if to build suspense for myself, I am satisfied when my light weight on the door causes it to swing open quietly.
I wonder around, unhappily, realizing that there is not much interesting in here. It is just Mikey and his wife after all. Then a glint of light catches my eye. A phone with a new message on it is laying on the bed. As I pick up the warm electronic I see the message is from Frank. Of course I open it quickly.
Frank: "May I dare ask how Heather is behaving?"
Giggling I decide to pretend to be Mikey.
Me: "She is an angel. It's kind of amazing. Think she likes me, bet your jealous ;)"
I wonder how he will reply, I even find myself holding my breath.
Frank: "Huh. Well, you are pretty awesome. Hell yeah, I am jealous. I bet she is just saving up all her anger for me."
Me: "Hmm... Wonder if that's why she was muttering, 'Hurt... Frank...' in her sleep last night. Haha. O_O"
Frank: "Oh, god. Just... No. You are joking, right?"
Now its time to get Frank angry over something Mikey did not actually do...
Me: "Yeah, I'm teasing. Oh! Would you be mad if I sort of gave your phone number to a group of fangirls? I made them really happy!"
Frank: "YOU WHAT?"
Me: "They had Frank Iero shirts and were adorable. I could not resist. Sorry, man."
Frank: "I. Am. Killing. You."
I could just imagine little Frank growling at his phone as he typed the message.
Me: "Calm down. They are pretty awesome. Except the one that kept muttering your name, 'Frank Iero. Frank Iero...' She was kind of creepy."
Frank: "Anything else you care to mention? Hopefully less horrible and aggravating? Something to balance out the treachery you committed already?"
As I replied, I could not help, but laugh. I had actually stumbled apon some sort of fan fiction about this before, while looking for information on My Chemical Romance. Frikey is the name fans created for the couple, Frank and Mikey.
Me: "I do not know how to say this but... I... Uh... Have you heard of Frikey? I read some and I think we should marry each other. For the fans. And... Me. I love you Frank."
Frank: "What!?"
I realise that maybe this has gone too far. What if Frank actually had feelings for Mikey and Mikey broke it off, or vice versa? After deleting the messages I had just sent I close the phone and will it to not ring again, hoping Frank would see it as a joke.
To my displeasure it buzzes and I press end quickly. Then, I erase all of Mikey's calls and leave the phone where I found it.
Tears slowly drip down my face as I cry to myself. Why must my pranks always go so wrong?
