Nick's POV

Luna is coming home from the hospital today and I don't know how to feel. Thankfully, her surgery went well but I just don't know where I stood with her. Do I give her a hug or do I just give her a small smile, and ask how she feels?

"Nick, come help me with the balloons." We're throwing a welcome home party for her. I feel awkward around Shawn because I'm pretty sure he knows about everything. I'm surprised that he hasn't hurt me yet.

As I blow some balloons, I hear the door open and someone walks in. He looks familiar. I might have seen him in school, during lunch I think.

"Who's that?" I asked Shawn.

"That's Zayn."

"And he's here, why?" I still don't understand why he's in Luna's house.

"He's friends with Luna."

"Since when?" I asked, still confused.

"Since a long time. Why do you care?" Shawn asks, with a small smirk forming on his lips when I rolled my eyes.

I heard a car pull into the garage and I knew Luna was back.

"Everyone shut up and hide!" I yell.

The front door unlocked as Luna's mom helped her in.

"Surprise!" We all screamed, causing Luna to fall back. Her mom had her arm around her, which saved her from falling.

"Oh shit. You guys almost gave me a heart attack!" She said, still in shock.

"I think you are exaggerating a bit." Shawn laughed.

"Shut up, I'm not." She smiled, slapping Shawn's chest. I missed seeing her smile. I hate that I put her in pain, I need to fix things.

I couldn't find a moment where Luna was alone. Everyone was talking to her, clearly overwhelming her with questions. Leave the poor girl alone, she just got out of the hospital. I shouldn't be talking though, considering I'm the reason she was there in the first place. I wonder if she told people the actual reason she was there, or if she came up with a lie.

Finally, after about twenty minutes Luna was sitting down by herself. I took this as my chance to talk to her.

"Hey." I sat next to her.

"Hey."

"I don't want things to be weird between us." I say.

"Oh, it's not weird at all." I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not, but knowing her she probably was.

"I'm sorry." I managed to say. I hated apologizing for things, even if they were my fault.

"What for?" She asked, with a questioning look. Why is she playing dumb for?

"For everything."

"Such as?" She asks, making this extremely hard for me.

"For the dare, for what I said at the party, for being the reason you have a fractured wrist." I said quickly.

"It's cool." She casually says.

"Well, that's uh...cool?" I don't know what to say anymore.

Before she could move from the couch, I managed to say something I've been wondering.

"Did it mean anything to you?"

"What?" She asked, looking at me.

"Did this mean anything to you? Did you even care about me or was it just a joke?" I choked out.

"I could ask you the same thing." She said, emotionless.

"I did care, I still do and I'll never stop. No matter what happened or what will happen, I'll still love you. I don't think I can stop." Why am I confessing this to her? This isn't like me. She's changed me.

"Now, answer my question." I said.

"Only fools fall for you, and I am not a fool." She walked away and I felt a lump in my throat.

I saw her turn back and I looked into her eyes, hoping she'll forgive me.

"Also, you don't love me. You are just in love with the idea of me. You don't know me, and you never will."

"But I want to." I desperately said.

"Good luck with that." She walked away and avoided me for the rest of the party.

-

I haven't seen or contacted Luna for two weeks. We haven't even seen each other in lunch. I'm guessing it's because we both are trying to avoid each other. I wish it wasn't like this, I want it to be different.

The thought of texting her has been in my mind for the longest time, but I never had the gut to do it.

Luna's POV

"Zayn, stop!" I giggled, as he dug his head in the space between my neck and shoulder.

"But I don't wanna."

"I gotta pee!" I tried getting out of his grip.

"Hold it." He said.

"Unless you want me to pee on you, you better let go of me." He let go and I smiled, walking to the bathroom.

Zayn's POV (I'm changing POV's a lot but I gotta)

I heard a ding come from Luna's phone. I didn't want to be one of those guys who checked their girlfriends phone. We aren't even officially dating yet, but we will soon. I couldn't help myself when I saw Nick's name pop up on the screen. Luna said she deleted his number.

Nick-
I miss you. I'm so sorry Luna. Please forgive me. I'll show you I've changed, please. These past two weeks I've realized that you are my medicine, my home and I can't function without you.

to Nick-
Never contact me again.

I sent that message and blocked him, putting her phone back in its place when I heard the bathroom door open.

"Now where were we?" I asked, as I pulled her onto me.

hi hi, I hope you like this chapter. I think I might end this book in a few chapters because I have no idea where it's going.
